From memory I put a small deposit down on a £33k car (about 5k down) and paid £600 a month (ish) - so with 10k down I reckon you could get to about £500, maybe £550. After three years you'd have some equity in the car too as long as you maintain it. Factor in high servicing and repair costs. A warranty is about £1k a year from Porsche. Expensive, but, IMHO, worth it if you can - brilliant cars.
Hmmm, that is very tempting. I definitely agree they are brilliant cars, I was lucky enough to have a drive in a 981 Cayman S and also previously been in a 987.1 2.7 Boxster, and nothing else has really compared to them in terms of a driving experience - at least not in my budget. Now to do some man maths to to justify it...Ursicles said:
Ok...
So have fiddled with the offer more and confirmed order:
Audi A4 Avant 1.4
Car:
1 x £633 upfront
23 x £211
Maintenance:
£34 up front
£11.74 per month after
Fees are £180
Total cost of ownership for 2 yrs is £5,790.
NOTE: I have no options on the car bar what it came with.
Bloody good deal that. Gutted that I don't need one until August time. The standard spec look excellent So have fiddled with the offer more and confirmed order:

Has anyone found any good deals on options?
eg if you add £600 for metallic paint can you get say £300 back at the end as the car is worth that bit more?
I wish! Only thing holding me back from ordering a Audi TT is the fact they don't come with that amazing Sat Nav unless you shell out £1800!!! Specing one without is a crime in my opinion but it's an extra £80 quid every month! Ah shame eg if you add £600 for metallic paint can you get say £300 back at the end as the car is worth that bit more?

I've looked at these too - that's the best I could find as well.
Struggling to see of anything better. There were few negative comments a few pages back about the 218 hp engine but performance looks more than satisfactory.
Wondering if a quick and dirty ECU remap would bring it up to or even better 272 hp engine performance levels...if felt necessary.
So...where do we stand on this one folks. I feel i am being morally wronged...
I spec'd some options on the A4 deal, on the paperwork the total cost of the options has been divided by 23 and spread over the cost of the lease (exactly as expected) - they have also then added the monthly cost of the options to the 9 payments up front... !?!
On my example the options were only £300 in total, but my maths is telling me i'm now paying £417 for them in total?
It's still a cheap deal but it doesn't sit well with me....

Cab driver this morning, for some reason started telling me about cars. Told me that one of his other customers had gone and spent £500 a month on a new Range Rover ("you know, the big one"). He was saying that was a shocking amount of money to spend on a car. I didn't ask him for a link but sounds a good deal to me!

Long lead times on the Q7 unfortunately though (I was quoted June). You can get a Touareg R Line for £10.7k over 2 years from Solent/ Central for an 8k contract. Higher output, 3.0 engine as used in the Q7 too.

That's better than someone else was saying where you just pay the cost of the optionI spec'd some options on the A4 deal, on the paperwork the total cost of the options has been divided by 23 and spread over the cost of the lease (exactly as expected) - they have also then added the monthly cost of the options to the 9 payments up front... !?!

But surely it should be the same as for the car
What is the cost of the option now
What will that option be worth when you hand it back
Divide the difference by number of payments
It'll help if there's some profit in there too, perhaps what discount can they get on the price of the option

Very few options improve a residual value, a car with an alloy wheel upgrade may fetch a touch more at auction than the same car with standard wheels, but it's not guaranteed. Hence why you usually cover the whole cost of the option during the life of the agreementeg if you add £600 for metallic paint can you get say £300 back at the end as the car is worth that bit more?
