Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol II)

Potentially stupid question from a first time car "purchaser" (always been insured on parents cars, which have been cheap runabouts), please don't laugh too hard!
I've accepted a new job, and will be doing 30 - 35k annual motorway miles on travel to work.
I've been quoted for a 520d, both maintained and without maintenance, and the difference is about £160 a month
Am I right in thinking that I would be mad to pay that amount for maintenance every month, and better off sticking £100 in a jar every month ready for when a service is due?
Just not sure whether the service costs are likely to be equivalent to £160 a month! Any help gratefully received

£450 a month give or take a couple of options, on a 9+23/35.. Haven't decided whether to go for 2 years or 3 yetVehicle Savers is who I've been speaking to
I know it's not the cheapest way of travelling, but am willing to pay that amount

Assuming two services per year, at an MB dealer (which should be comparable to BMW) that worked out about £700.You'd then have approx. £100 per corner for tyres, assuming two full sets every year, would be £800.
So you're into the £125 per month range at that mileage before you think about brakes, wipers, a clutch at three years perhaps?
If it's just servicing it's way too much, but if it's fully maintained it's not beyond the realms of possibility, though I absolutely needed complete predictability, I wouldn't go for it. If your mileage drops, for instance, you'll still be committed to maintaining the car at the high mileage, and I can't see how you could spend much more than that on a regular basis.

Haha .. I've never had a nice car before, and if I am going to be doing that mileage I'd like to have something of that ilk to do it inThe job just about pays well enough to be able to afford to add the maintenance charge, but I just wanted to get some opinions on whether saving for servicing on my own would likely be more cost effective, as I have no idea on what the typical service costs would be on a 520d
Hopefully you get a lot of business miles and can claim that back. If that is all commuting, move unless you need a five-bedroomed house.
I wonder whether an Audi A6 might not work out cheaper overall (£400ish per month at that mileage, but if you go for a 5k p.a. deal and can pay a reasonable excess mileage, you get a lot of flexibility if your business miles drop).
Edit: at that kind of mileage, I'd consider running something like this into the ground because, if you're at the start of your career particularly, you won't have the safety net or if things go bad with the job, and a lease means you need to be fairly confident that your circumstances won't change. The car could, and probably will be a white elephant in two years - at least you could sell a car that you buy outright/with a personal loan. http://www.motorpoint.co.uk/vehicleadvert/hyundai/...

I think Auto Diesel would be essential for that mileage. Again I'd be tempted to suggest the VWFS deals as the 7.2ppm inc VAT excess is so reasonable. If you took it out on 5k a year and went 60k over contract, for a 2-year deal that would equate to the equivalent of an extra £180 a month (£4320 total). Not bad value if you're smacking 70k miles on it.
In other news this looks like a very good deal for anyone in the market for a petrol Audi A3, seen at Central Vehicle Leasing

I just posted it and it is a good deal - although I should point out that DriveTheDeal.com is doing them for cash for £16,500, so if you can beat £12k in two years' time it might not be such a great deal if you tend to keep your cars longer. In other news this looks like a very good deal for anyone in the market for a petrol Audi A3, seen at Central Vehicle Leasing

This is what a 2-year old A3 Sport books at:So if you did have the cash just stick it in a Santander 123 account for 2-years and lease!

That is exactly what I do, so I'm not arguing that this is a bad idea... but it's not a 'lease, don't buy this car under any circumstances' deal in the way that an A4 saloon, which is at least £5k more to buy yet comes out at the same overall lease cost is.Still very good value if you want that sort of thing, but not so good that it should sway you into leasing when you otherwise would have bought.
Good Evening Guys,
Ive been looking and waiting for a while now for some deals to come up on something 'beefy'
I know there was a decent deals year a so ago on the M5 if anyone knows of anything similar.
Recently come across Freedom's M4
3+23 8k a year
Initial: £1766.97
Monthly: £588.99
Has anyone else leased something similar recently?..

Just for information (and especially anyone in northern Ireland), I got Audi Belfast to compete with the internet offers for the 1.4 A4 Avant. Bit of standing my ground required but they got there in the end. Finalising the deal and paying my deposit tomorrow, I'll update on delivery time when I find out. Was strange though, because while I was in I saw a guy leave after been told "no chance" on the saloon deals.
