Update on my S8 saga...11 weeks after initial order based on 1/3 delivery, I still don't have an estimated build week. I do now have the Audi order number and details of the dealer that took the order.

Looks very much as though they have accepted the order without having a confirmed allocation of the vehicle. So basically I will be waiting until they get a build slot. Could be a long wait.

Increasingly disgruntled.

Think there are delays against the S8 builds. The build slot might still have been valid, but is just pushed back. I've had an order number for about 2 weeks, but it's for end June delivery. Are you tracking it through youraudi?

Don't know if this is of interest to anyone? I've just received an email.
That's rather a lot more than they were before is it not?

I was looking at 200 plus VAT many moons ago so 240 all in PCM.

Yes, tracking through YourAudi. It's still at the 'Welcome' stage i.e. order hasn't yet been accepted by the factory.

Yea mine says that too. Bit confused why the text says order is received but it hasn't got to the 'order received' status! Suspect it won't update until just before the build starts.

Yes, that confused me too! Reading a few other forums, it seems to mean that the order has been properly entered onto the system but the factory hasn't accepted / scheduled it yet. Usually down to dealer allocation issues but could on this occasion be a general delay on S8 as you suggest. Perhaps shortage of specific parts? I'm speculating wildly now...

I ordered my S8 through selectcontracts for March/April delivery and I've not got any order number or anything yet. I did speak to them the other week and was told it's been delayed until around June but now I'm getting worried it could be a lot longer going by what you guys are saying :/

Once you've made your order through the agent you should then be given the supplier dealer contacts.
You're then better off contacting them directly.

This in a nut shell. If you've not had the dealer contact details through yet, then ask for them. You'll probaby get more accurate info and will be able to get quicker updates

Has anybody tried adding optional extras to their lease after the order has been confirmed?

I ordered an A4 from CHL last month (build date April), and after having seen a similar car in flesh, the alloys look hideously small. Its the first thing that stands out.

So I have 2 options:
Cancel the lease, pay 3 months cost, and buy a 350z
Try to change my order

I've got an A6 coming on a 2 year lease but think I'm best getting gap insurance. How much should I get it for though?

Buy some rims on ebay and then sell them again at the end? You may well be able to chamge your order to add 18s, but you'll pay full whack for the upgrade i suspect (over the term).

Try driving one, big alloys on Audis can be a bit crashy/overly firm. Surely how it drives is more important?

If you went for the Sport then the wheels are actually quite nice I thought?

If not then yea as suggested buy a set online. Will be more unique and you can sell them at the end of the lease.

If you decide to cancel (or anyone that went for a saloon) let me know the details I might take it off you and then you won't have to pay the 3 months, you'll prob just lose admin fee). I'm aware there's the grey one up for grabs with heated seats and metallic paint but it's a bit pricey having £1k worth of extras smile

New 370z lease or a well used V8 for the price of the deposit...

Can't seem to decide. £270 a month for 15k miles is surely a huge bargain for a 370!

Where's that deal?
Cheapest I've seen on this thread is 8k/yr 9+23 £228+VAT = £7476
