Hi chaps,
Have read much of the previous thread but only just found this one!
My sister is thinking of getting either a Ford EcoSport or Fiat 500x. She's a first time leaser so any tips or any info on good deals much appreciated.
I'll have a read back, see if there is anything mentioned recently.
Cheers

Is the EcoSport not known for being crap? What about a Cactus from the Wiki? If they have found any more that is..Have read much of the previous thread but only just found this one!

No idea if it's crap, I'll see what I can see. There's not many about which may be telling!

Thanks looks like a good offer.
I'll do some research this evening to see if I can do any better but I suspect not!
You won't find better than that. Just a shame they have such long lead times I'll do some research this evening to see if I can do any better but I suspect not!

FWIW, they are £206 on a 6+23 too.

I asked the dealer a very direct question about timescales and got the 'demand exceeding supply' answer. Had I not hassled them I'm sure they would have been happy to hang onto my holding deposit indefinitely.
Disappointing but life goes on.
Finally got my order number from the broker and tracked my order through YourAudi and found that my order date shows as 9/2/2016. I placed my order back in November!!Disappointing but life goes on.

Give us a clue what FWIW means pal? I'm gonna tell him to hold out for either a DSG one or a DSG golf R
For what it's worth... I was holding out too. Getting very tired of waiting. If you want a cheap lease, then you have to be flexible. If you want a particular car, then just pony up.

I also have to say the broker has been extremely helpful and efficient about getting my deposit back. It's already been refunded.
Out of interest was yours always intended to be delivered around June? I was told March/April at the time I ordered.
I've probably got little choice but to hold on and wait. At the time I ordered it was a toss up between an S8 and a Jag XJ - if I cancelled my S8 and ordered a XJ I'd still be looking at delivery around June now anyway.
Out of interest, did you pay any admin fee to your broker and if so did they refund this too?

Infuriating. Wonder if it's the same dealer? What do you plan to do - hold tight and wait? To be fair if you're not in a hurry and the car does eventually materialise, it's still a great deal. I just wasn't prepared to wait.

I am also playing the waiting game. I am currently on a PCP but the 'webuyanycar' valuation is the same as my settlement fee so I am waiting for the right deal to pull the trigger and switch to leasing, hence me lurking and posting on this thread for the last few months.I was holding out too. I have listed my current thoughts on the hot hatch/coupe market below around my budget (all my own opinion of course).
Scirocco R - Dirt cheap for what it is but I have had a scirocco before and the 8 year old platform is putting me off when compared to the likes of the newer, sharper golf. The standard kit on the R is excellent though so finding it hard to resist at the above price.
370z - Standard 328ps is also cheap from Gateway2Leasing but after seeing reviews of the 370z Nismo (which is lovely) and the poor interior quality in standard trim it isn't an option for me, all the other cars mentioned have superior interiors. Also based on an ageing platform.
Golf R - Ticks all boxes but the price including metallic paint is coming out £100 per month more than the Scirocco R. Also not a fan of the standard 18" Cadiz alloys but the 19" Pretoria's add an eye watering amount to the lease.
Golf GTI - The deal from Gateway2Lease I posted previously in this thread is the first time I have seen the GTI reduced. Coming in a similar price as the Scirocco R. Has the advantage of being the newer platform and the tartan cloth is nice but is significantly down on power.
Audi S3 - Basically the Golf R with a nicer interior, not worth the £70 per month premium over the Golf in my opinion.
M135i - Starting to see more competitive lease prices and there are very tasty PCP deals also thanks to a £6000 BMW deposit contribution. The current lease price doesn't reach the lows of 2 years ago. EDIT: Removed a subjective comment.
M235i - Lease prices are not competitive.
Audi S5 Black Edition - The deals for this car have been floating around since the beginning of Q4 2015 and it is a lot of car for the money with excellent standard kit. Exceeds my budget but something in the back of my mind is telling me that the price of this could potentially drop to more competitive levels once the next generation A5 is revealed.
Focus RS - There was a cheap lease deal (£310 per month) floating around but I question the validity of this considering there is a 1 year waiting list to get one. Due to the likely high retention value this is probably a car you are better off buying than leasing. PCP was coming in around £450 a month with a £2000 deposit with some of the desirable options ticked but there is high potential for positive equity at the end.
Ford Mustang - Lease prices are not competitive, probably due to the ridiculous cost of the road fund license for the 5.0 V8. We may start to see better deals filter through once the initial hype subsides.

I don't normally care about the aesthetics but I love the look of mine. I find it better looking then the 2 and cheaper too. I guess it's subjective.nickfrog said:

As I stated, only my opinion. It is a nice car for sure but I prefer the proportions of the 2 series. You can probably guess from my post I am picky about wheels too. The BMW M Performance alloys as a potential option would be nice but I can't image what they would do to the lease price.IMG]http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb339/nickfrog1/M135i/IMG_1767_zpsr4baxvtr.jpg[/IMG]

I'm hoping for a drop in the 370z Nismo or the S5 so keep us updated if you see a bargain!

Ditto. The 2's proportions look a bit odd to me. It's too small. It looks like an economy verion of the 3 Series. That's a nice car. I have the 4 GC on order
