Then its a PCP. You are financing the full 28k. That will affect your borrowed amount for a mortgage
I have found the link. Please see below. Is this a PCP then? Appreciate your help with this!

Yes its PCP as it clearly states:

"Initial Payment of £2069.91 inc VAT followed by 12 payments of £229.99 inc VAT with an Optional Purchase Price of £26,655.25"

It's not even a good PCP deal.

Total payable £31,485 on a car with a list price of £31,970 I believe.

You're effectively spending any discount on the interest payments for 12 months.

The £229 is misleading, the £2k deposit for a 12 month deal works out at over £400 per month.

That is IMO not a deal for a Juke. My wife had one for peanuts on a PCP but she is now many times happier in her Qashqai lease.

Nissan Qashqai Diesel Hatchback 1.5 dCi N-Connecta 5dr
6+35
£192inc pm
5k mpa
£234inc admin fee

http://www.clvr.org.uk/personal-lease-cars/nissan/...

Or here's a 2016 Sportage:

Kia Sportage Estate 1.6 GDi ISG 1 5dr
6+23
£170inc pm
6k mpa
£234inc admin fee

With a bit of digging you should uncover better than the above smile

There's a cracking deal a couple of pages back for a Caddy lite if your only criteria is 7 seats.

Surely if he intends to give the car back the the purchase price doesn't matter?

Yes, but it's still a pcp deal and not a particularly great one which is what I was commenting on.

Even if you treat it as a lease and hand the car back it's still not exactly a stellar deal at nearly £5k for one year.

Also how annoying is it when they show a car that does not look like what you would get

Completely agree. The performance pack styling, and particularly those alloys, transform the look of the car for me. Hopefully anyone responding to that deal based on the stated price and picture will note the additional charges and see an accurate image before committing.

Since when did it cost £604 to deliver a car. That's misleading and verging on unethical behaviour so sneak that in. Would avoid these guys.

Just had a really very annoying email yesterday; I got a pretty good deal on a Merc E class coupe AMG Line Edition in a very specific colour I wanted. Paid the brokers fee etc stated delivery date of next month - I have the reg number and everything.

Yesterday I got an email - it's at the dealers now and upon checking it turns out it has an optional panoramic roof. These are a £1370 extra and (to quote from the email)

Lease Company Email said:
We’ve received information from Mercedes-Benz about your order for a Mercedes E-Class Coupe E220d AMG Line Edition Auto, to say that the vehicle has now arrived at their Central Distribution Depot, and there is unfortunately a bit of an issue. The car selected has actually come through complete with an Electronic Panoramic Glass Sunroof – which is a manufacturer cost option of £1,370.00.

<SNIP>

Having investigated this issue with Mercedes-Benz, it would appear that there has been an error with the information supplied by MB UK Head Office. The Mercedes Benz system has omitted this option.

As this is an error on behalf of Mercedes, we have been working with Mercedes to try and find a solution. Mercedes have confirmed they are unable to support the additional cost as the level of discount provided to achieve the deal pricing is already at their highest possible level. We have escalated this with Mercedes as high as we can.

We realise that this issue has been caused through no fault of your own, and we are very keen to ensure you are entirely satisfied with our service.

As it stands, the car we have on order for you does have a sunroof, and at a cost of £1,370.00, it adds a £36.05 (Inc. VAT) per month. Between XXXXXXX and our funding partner, if you did wish to continue with the car, and include the sunroof, we will be willing to subsidise the cost of the roof, resulting in an increased monthly rental of £18.03 (Including VAT) per month – a discount of 50%.

There are no alternative cars available from stock on this deal in XXXX colour XXXX. An alternative would be to swap to a different colour <snip>
Although a pano roof is a very nice option indeed it is not one I would specify on a lease car; speccing up a leased car is a mugs game as the cost of the option is added to the cost of the lease and divided by your term - you pay 100% of the cost of the options which you then give back at the end of the term; as you can see on a 3+35 lease they were initially wanting me to pay the full £1370 for their error.

Anyway, what with another issue I've had I just thought "I've had enough of this" and told them to simply cancel the car; I'll get one elsewhere or wait a while and get the new model. They came back to me and said they'd take the hit.

I'm annoyed - to me this smells of sharp practice by someone. I've little confidence this car is actually even going to turn up now and will disappear like the famed Golf R deals - which will piss me off royal since we have a France trip in June with hotel and ferry booked. Annoyingly I now dare not actually pay the ferry reservation and I am not willing to actually arrange the insurance cover on the car (which is costing extra) until I am certain it will arrive - and I am by no means confident that it will; I suspect that some "problem" will occur with it where they then get to re-lease at the "correct" cost.

I even wonder if the lease company knew this all along and simply lured me in because of the specific colour I want and then decided to wait til fees paid etc and pull the old switcheroo? So far the company concerned have been really very efficient and their sales chap seems very nice and has worked hard for my business. I'll hold fire actually naming them (or filling in their TrustPilot review) when this pans out and I see if I actually receive the car or not.

Or maybe I'm just very pessimistic?

Dog Star, you've reminded me of a lease 330d I ordered in 2013. Order placed in Feb, admin fee paid, told delivery late April. Sold my old car at the end of April but the lack of communication from the lease co was a slight concern.

Despite chasing a few times I didn't get any concrete dates and when the lease paperwork came through with mistakes in; I pointed this out and it came through again with more mistakes. By this time it was close to the end date of the lease company's own time extension from the indicated delivery date and, when they told me it would be 14 days from signing the paperwork until I could get the car (the same paperwork they'd delayed by making multiple mistakes) I exercised my right to cancel. Ironically the following day the supplying dealer rang me to arrange delivery, so I simply told them to speak to the lease company because I had terminated the contract.

Went and bought a 2yr old C-class with £10k of options on it instead, which I was quite fond of. Anyway, if the car's already at the dealer then I don't think there's any real risk you won't get it. You do have the upper hand, though.
