Anyway, if the car's already at the dealer then I don't think there's any real risk you won't get it.
So they say.........

Has anyone seen any good deals on the x trail as ned 7 seats. Thank you
There's a cracking deal a couple of pages back for a Caddy lite if your only criteria is 7 seats.
THanks i had seen that but the reviews on the caddy are not brilliant.

Still looking for something fairly quick (250-350 bhp), petrol and automatic.

Currently kicking myself for hesitating on the R Estate...

Come on Pistonheads! Help! :P

That sounds completely unrealistic that the dealer didn't know about it.

Mercedes are very explicit about options and everything has a three letter code listed on the order, in all paperwork and in the online order/stock system.

I've never had an M-B lease but with a PCP I had to sign the order form which listed all these codes. Dealers are very used to these codes, certainly the common ones like this, and there is no way they wouldn't have been aware of it...if it was listed on the build.

Of course, the other scenario is M-B somehow built the car with a pano roof without it being on the order. That I find even more unbelievable.

I personally wouldn't pay them another penny, but I appreciate it's an anxious situation.

I think I'd just cough up £18/month and put up with it. Pano roof is a really nice option, the lease co are paying 50% already.

Or maybe I'm just very pessimistic?
I'd be feeling optimistic. You've had good dealings with your contact/the company until now, it appears MB were at fault for the error (unless the order form was wrong), the lease company tried to do a deal to try and keep you happy, whilst minimising their costs, but in the end have said they will absorb the cost in full to keep the deal alive for you, and you should now benefit from having a higher spec car.

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic (read naïve), but with the registration and the car (allegedly) at the dealers/central distribution centre, I wouldn't be worrying. Yet.

Have they said when in May it will be ready? If it's not next week, is there any chance you can go and view it?

End of May; I've my current SLK til a few days before. New one is, I suspect down south (it's a LM London plate) and I'm in Lancashire.

Nothing I can do about it now; if it arrives then all well and good, if it doesn't then I'll be saving up some cash and using a motorbike as daily transport. Every cloud etc smile

Done 4 merc leases - never signed on the line without seeing a build sheet. Just done it on an A45 (that I wouldnt fit in with a roof!)

He's getting it free.

Sounds like he was getting a car already built - it talks about the car "selected" - and someone has just missed off noting that it had that option.

You have to wonder who is taking the hit though. Mercedes are generally completely hard-faced but it's hard to imagine there's enough margin in the deal for the funder to absorb it.

DogStar have you got a comm number for the car? It's unusual to just have a panoramic roof, most are ordered with a premium pack which includes the roof. I might be able to do some digging for you if you like, it depends if it's one of our cars or not.

I've got a registration - would that do? I've asked for the VIN

I've been looking for an SUV/4x4 that can tow 2000kg for a while and the best I've found is a Touareg on 24 month lease.

Works out £9587.66 over 2 years, so just under £400/month for 5000 miles. Is there anything better than this at the moment for the Touareg or are there better options out there? I was looking at X5/X6, Disco Sport or Jag F-Pace but all of them work out a few hundred a month more than the Touareg.

They're all a fair bit nicer than the Touareg but not worth an extra 50% in my eyes.

The Passat Alltrack can tow 2000kg (just). This should be quite a bit cheaper.

Seems a good deal - it's precisely the deal available via CVL UK but excluding CVL's £239.99 admin fee. I dropped an e-mail to a dealer recommended earlier in the thread in Morden, but didn't get a response. Which dealer is your quote from?

An Alltrack will tow that although not a full bore SUV.

Audi A6 Allroad will tow 2500kg - 272PS version on 3+23, 8k miles is £337.14 inc VAT (plus £180 admin fee) here: https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/Audi-...

You can save a couple of quid going for the 218PS version which still tows 2500kg according to the Audi brochure.

Since I've ordered one (last week) I can confirm the cost per additional mile is 16.8p (so not as cheap as VW Financial Services) and delivery is estimated at 4 months.

ETA: towbar as a factory option is £825 so that's the best part of £40 a month on the lease cost - however, it comes as standard with "Tow bar bracket preparation – the set of parts for retrofitting is available from Audi Accessories" so it might be cost effective to buy the accessory tow bar and sell it on after the 2 years.

Thanks! Will have a look at the A6 & Alltrack. Looks like it comes in £640 less than a Touareg and with 3000 miles more pa.
