Isn't this almost too cheap to be true!? 1+35 for £169 a month and 6p per excess mile?! Blimey.
That is bonkers, they have a decent lease deal on a Mokka too.

Pentagon and Aston ran a similar deal back in June/July last year when I applied for mine but on a 1 + 23.

At the time you could get it cheaper if you had a connection to a Vauxhall partner.

The small print on that offer says it includes he Vauxhall Partner discount. I've heard it's pretty easy to get the Partner discount though.

that's very cheap if genuine... not sure what a 2.0 diesel auto XE would be like though. Wonder if they're struggling to shift them.

Honest John's page for it seems to have disappeared, so I think it was an error. Why would a 2.0 diesel XE auto be any less appealing than a 320d auto, which seem to grow on trees on the roads these days? I don't think Jag are having any difficulty shifting XEs judging by the number I'm starting to see and the lack of amazing deals on them.

Badge, build, reliability, how it drives... Could be any number of reasons! Why are Jaguars never as popular as other premium marques? Anyway it was bks.

They're getting poor takeup because the leases are still quite a bit more than the BMW/Audi/Merc equivalents seem to be...

I called them this morning. It is an error and then they took the page down. Shame.

I have a question about leasing... do you guys ever put some options on these cars? The deals are all built around the bog basic car and ofen (in my view) several key options are necessary to really get the enjoyment out of the car. Taking the A6 deals that were going around, the standard alloys are utterly w@ank so I'd want to change those as I want the car I drive to look half decent. I think with almost any car I could find some "must haves".

Is that the price you pay for these deals or are people speccing and driving the car the way they want it? The Golf R is another good example, in my view, the standard alloys are awful and there is a case to be made for wanting DSG and/or an optional colour. Do you get utterly nailed by adding extras to PCH deals or is some discount given on the list price of these items and/or some value attirubted to them in terms of future saleability of the car?

There are many good deals for M Sport, AMG Line, S Line cars, which often have nicer wheels than pure basic spec cars.

Autos again often come up with the good deals.

More often than not you pay the total cost of the options over the term of the hire period, so what can be great deals for standard specification cars soon become considerably more expensive when options are added to them. For example if metallic paint had been specified on the recent Golf R Estate deals available for around £267 per month, the cost would have increased by £30 per month. PCP can be more cost effective if specifying many options.

However, you are correct that some options on some cars do make them more desirable and therefore the whole of the cost is not charged throughout the hire period. An example would be the M Sport plus pack on the 335d xdrive tourer.

I think PCH offers excellent value if you want a standard spec car and better still if you are not confined to a particular make and model and can act quickly when a fantastic deal is suddenly offered.

This seems to be the takeaway from the thread for me. It's probably not for me as I'm really quite picky about my cars and often gravitate towards options. I'm one of these people that actually does learn and regularly use all technology in a car that is designed to make life easier or the drive more pleasurable.

That being said, perhaps with a bit of mental adjustment I could be convinced one day to give PHC a go. It would probably be in a situaiton where I'm looking for an every day car and I would therefore have to be sure about my mileage. At the moment my every day car is getting 20-25k miles a year, which is too much.

I think what bothers me the most about it is that it's your BMW/Audis/Mercs that have the best depreciation profile and therefore attract the best deals. However, they are also the three stingiest manufacturers who leave nearly all the goodies out. I remember speccing up a 335d x-drive tourer about a year ago and I must have added the best part of £10k to get it exactly how I would want it.

How does that deal not look anything other than an 'error' or someone fishing for leads?

2 months ago I would have said the same, but sine the VW All track deals.......
Also JLR have big ambition to make more cars and things are hardly going their way in China.
But anyway, the deal wasn't real, but almost anything goes these days.
