Does anyone know if those Pre-Q3 Merc deals materialised? Deal had to be complete before 30th June if I recall correctly.

I want to know if there is any mileage in a dealership visit tonight/tomorrow.

Hi all,

Long term lurker just joined up as I'm looking out for a great lease deal on a Golf 1.6 TDI 110 Match Edition 5dr DSG (currently in a Mini Cooper S but want something more comfy and economical for my 120 mile round trip commute). Best I've come up with is this...

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

That's £186pm inc VAT on a 6+23 (15,000 miles). Entirely new to leasing so would appreciate any direction as to whether that's a reasonable deal or not.

Cheers!

If you wanted to stretch to a 2.0 GTD 5dr, they start at £190pm on Stable (only 5k mpa though, and not DSG)

Hmm I'd definitely be doing 15,000 miles. I assume the penalties for exceeding your agreed mileage would be much more than if you're honest about it from the onset?

Anyone seeing prices rise post Brexit? Weak pound will hike most of the good VW Group deals, eg, I should imagine
Likely fall in new car sales during period of economic uncertainty could offset that.

Your emails are disabled, send me a pm and I can forward you on the details of the chap who I got the deal from. (1k deposit, £150 per month, 7.2ppm excess 5k pa)

2.0TDI MATCH DSG is £152 pm with £1368 deposit on 5k pa from freedom.

Match is decent spec. The 150bhp tdi is fairly nippy through the gears once turbo is spooled up.

Extra £40 pm gets you the GTD, that gives slightly better trim and 30bhp extra.

Thanks Skaif. As a new member looks like I have to wait 24hrs before I can pm you.

Not necessarily. Something you have to work out for yourself. Just check the excess mileage costs, and compare to being honest at the start. Often you cheaper to get the lower mileage allowance, and pay the excess charge.

That is true direct through VW FS, but often not so if funded through other finance companies. VW FS usually charge 7.2p inc VAT. Other can be as high as 15p.

Hi All,

Quick leasing-related question.

I'm quite close to agreeing a deal on a car - on a 6+35 with a main dealer.

There is an extra I want to add - a service plan that adds around £7-8 per month.

Is there any mileage in asking for them to throw this is FOC - or do I assume that as it's via a manufacturers finance company that deals are fairly non negotiable?

The total price should be around £312 plus VAT per month = £374.40 or so. If not the free service plan, ask them to round the total payment down to £370 a month - thus £308.33 exc VAT.

I know it's not much but £5 or so x 41 payments is a night away for me and the wife.

It's worth checking the maths. VAG excess is usually 7.2ppm inc VAT.
Anecdotal evidence says you can phone VWFS at least 12months before the end of the lease and add the extra mileage at a reduced excess rate.

Not true. VWFS are buggers for that sort of thing!

Don't tell me, tell the other member on this forum who say they have 1st hand experience of this.
Anyway, best assume 7.2ppm and you wont be disappointied if with VWFS.

Assume 7.2ppm and if your lucky vwfs may throw it at you with 50% discount in blocks of 5k.

There's no harm in asking in most situations in life but... you've not given specific car/dealer/middleman so it's hard to think of examples to learn from. Personally, my experience of (and preference for) PCH is that the price is low so that I don't have to haggle or deal with sales people!

Anyone know of any good A5 black edition deals at 10k+ p.a mileage?
If you can wait until the new A5 Coupe comes out as you will get a much better deal on the older model.

Always make sure the car you are hoping to lease is not about to get replaced.

It can be worth waiting a further month or two if possible to save a good amount once the new model appears.
