Skoda Superb
Ford Mondeo
Volvo V70

Each one has a massive boot and they are all very good cars, too.

I used to be able to get 10 sheets of 1.2m by 2.4m plasterboard in my 2001 focus estate biggrin had to put them in at a slant but they would slide in no problem, with about a foot hanging out the back

Tried to get just one sheet in my latest shed Mazda 6 estate which is much bigger than the focus, but not a chance.

It's 4"" wider at the bottom than a C6 A6 too!
Mk5 is even wider than the Mk4 as well.

Compact estates are useless as cargo movers - 3 series:

E Class does it properly - a boiler, 8 rads, tools and room to spare:

I might be back to the drawing board as it seems the Audi A6 Allroad doesn't allow the rear seats to fold completely flat.

PH needs a like button.

Would it be worth getting an appropriately sized trailer maybe? The wood could live in it when not being used then, no need for unloading it when you get home and loading it up next time you're going somewhere if you can just wheel the trailer somewhere safe.

In my A6 (current version) the only thing that stopped the seats going flat was the rear head rests. If I "raised"them the seats went flat.
Having recently moved house using the A6 to move all my stuff into storage and back out, I fitted everything into that car including a double mattress, dinning room table, 2metre high bookcases, it all went in. A small point but the interior survived all that without getting bashed or tatty.

An R Class mercs with all the seats folded flat has a massive flat floor as it's over the level of the wheel arches. 1342mm I think.

Without going to a van type car like a Vito, VW T5 etc, you won't find bigger.

Yeah, the R-class.
The long one is as long as the lwb Viano/Vito.

Blimey! We'll establish base camp near the rear seats belts and then push on and try and make it to the ash trays by nightfall.

Looks like the 9-5 is 101cm.

Was going to say 9-5 mines just taken a largeish German Shepherd and similar size mongeral 1000 mile round trip and they both had room to lie down and move about the GS wasn't overly impressed with head room but he normally lies down in any vehicle, he also wasn't overly impressed when I hit a hump back bridge enthusiastically.

Thought this was worth a bump. I'm looking for something I can get at least 2 sets of golf clubs in width ways with room for trolleys as well. We have a Q7 for the family, which will take 4 sets of clubs, suitcases etc for holidays, but I need something more sensible for everyday use. Current A8 will take 1 set across and 1 trolley only, so useless for 2 of us. Went to look at Cayennes today and couldn't believe how narrow the boot was. Anyone got any bright ideas?
