Please......can we talk about cars with big engines...or did i accidentally enter mumsnet?
In all fairness OP, the first sentence of your post reads like you are getting suckered in a big way by getting told you can buy a big car. Unless you actually do want a 4th kid yourself, id consider telling the wife she can fk off and you want your nuts back from her purse (off course in a much less inflammatory manner)

And if you do go through with it, id suggest just getting something boring and big and MPV-ish, and getting a proper fun car (mx5 thread? mx5 thread!) so you can feel alive every now and then

Tesla model S?

No V8, but no VED/petrol to pay and mighty, mighty quick.

The rear double jump seats maybe a bit small though.

Bah, there are worse things in life than getting suckered into having another kid. TBH I thought I was among blokes here, and jesting about kids par for the course. I guess not. Still, i know where to come in future when I want some good marriage counselling smile

I've already got a C6 Corvette on my driveway, so that makes me feel alive....and often close to death. I just want something big and quick for the family hauler so I don't go from a 4 sec car, to a 14 sec car.

Good shout. I was looking one over in a pop-up Tesla shop a while back. Probably not an ideal seat configuration tho. Might re-visit one before I make my decision tho.

Yes... that meets the criteria...
- Semi-unique (Not a BMW, Audi, VW, Volvo, Range Rover...)

At least I was subjective with luxurious. biggrin
Yeah, stick to those semi-unique Porsches and Mercs...

/silly criteria

Reasoning: I hate all BMW's, I think every single one of them looks the same....ugly as sin. OK Porsches and Merc's aren't exactly uniquely styled, but at least I can bear the looks of them. Nothing tickles my fancy from Audi's range, Range Rover is done to death in Essex where I live and I specifically despise the 'modified' ones that have stupid names on their rear badges and the only visible difference to the car is some plastic quad exhaust tips. Volvo...yawn. There, I think I'm done.

Nice concept, but which dealership would I go to for servicing and repairs? Lexus or Renault smile

This reminds me of a 'what car' where the bloke started off wanting an SUV with 'big wheels' and seats for 7.
After pages and pages he ended up (quite unhappily as it turned out) with a Honda estate.

R63 AMG?

Rare as hens teeth, but comical idea. Saw them at the Italian gp in 2009 thundering around with the medical team in them. Totally, wonderfully pointless...... I've wanted one since.

I wonder why some people insist on having more than two children? Do they look around and see the queues of traffic, the sprawling crowds, the state of the housing crisis, then come to the conclusion what the world needs is twice as many people living here? Or is it all about what she wants? I think I know the answer. Sadly I have mates in the same trap.
