Sorry, but that sounds like a dreadful deal. Evened out it's likely to cost you about £260 a month to drive a slow, diesel Nissan?
Thanks for the reply. It's not really meant to be a blast to drive, granted. What could I get for the same sort of price? It does seem to be the best deal that I can find at the moment (granted it seems a terrible time to be getting a new lease) - went to a local Nissan dealership and they were £40 pm dearer and couldn't get close to the above deal. Either way, the deal you posted is pretty poor value but if you are limiting yourself to a family SUV-type car then there's not much floating around at the moment. Get yourself on to some of the contract hire websites (CVL, Nationwide, etc.) and have root around. Ultimately if you like the car and are happy to pay the money then that's all that matters

First post so please be gentle - I'm completely new to leasing having not owned a car for about 6 years now thanks to my previous job providing a company car.
I've found a deal below, but I'm unsure if this is a good 'un. What do you folks think?

£2699.89 initial rental

= £9600 over the term. First post so please be gentle - I'm completely new to leasing having not owned a car for about 6 years now thanks to my previous job providing a company car.

£38Kish list price, so assuming those figures include VAT and there's no huge arrangement fee it's about 25% of list price.
...which is good, if not spectacular: Discounts of about 20% from list are available from brokers like coast2coast on those.

This equates to 25% of the cars "value" (£38,630), which I would suggest most people on here would call a Good Deal, anything closer to 20% is considered a Great Deal.

Hi all,
Been lurking a little while trying to get a sense of this lease malarky. My better half's Mini gave up the ghost last week and we're expecting baby #2 around Christmas so am after something a little more sensible (and new - and hopefully reliable). I've come across the following deal and wondered if it looked decent enough.
If you have any other thoughts - I'd be more than happy to hear. We're after something slightly raised (to aid getting the little ones in and out) and sportier than the MPV's. I'm half tempted to wait for the new 3008 SUV as it looks immense, but suspect it will be pretty expensive at first.
Deal for Qashqai:
Nissan Qashqai Diesel Hatchback 1.5 dCi N-Connecta 5dr
6+35 (1221.24 initial)
10k p/a (6p excess) - will end up doing around 14.5k p/a

Just keep scanning the lease websites and wait for something to come up and look at what they have in stock as obviously a new car is going to take 8-12 weeks+. It's a very time consuming business scanning through all the offers though, gets' tiresome after a while.

You say that, but you can walk into a Merc dealer and probably get 25% off buying one new, they're ancient and are desperate to shift them.
This is the new one. The 20% on Coast2Coast includes a deposit contribution from MBFS so you'd have to fund it via them (and then clear it if you're a cash buyer)dave_s13 said:

Thanks for that, I do like a Jeep. The Wrangler is one of my all time favourites - did the numbers on that and it ends up at 41% over 3 years. http://www.yes-lease.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/jee...

I know the QQ is boring as sin, but my calculations make it 33% over 3 years.
My problem is that I could spend hours and hours looking at all these websites and try to find the right deal, but really that just seems like a false economy - hence why I thought I'd ask the PH hivemind.

Personally, I'd go for the Yeti 1.4 L&K. Cheaper per year (£2500/year), shorter term (so you can get a new one sooner) and better spec.Been lurking a little while trying to get a sense of this lease malarky. WHile I don't dislike the yeti - my wife said to me the other day I wouldn't be seen dead in one of them - no wonder they are cheap.Yet she has a pug 2008 pretend suv thingy - troube with most who aren't interested in cars they follow the herd - hence all the audi's/suv/white paint etc.

They are brilliant cars. We have a 2.0 diesel L&K and it's great. Difficult to know what to get to replace it. Yet she has a pug 2008 pretend suv thingy - troube with most who aren't interested in cars they follow the herd - hence all the audi's/suv/white paint etc.

Thanks for the replies. I'm learning all the time on this leasing lark.
So it seems like the golden rule is to pay as small a % of the list price as possible?
My would have said the first golden rule is to make sure that the cars you're considering are the sort of thing you want to drive for the duration of the contract as once you've got it you really can't get out of the deal.So it seems like the golden rule is to pay as small a % of the list price as possible?
There are an awful lot of bargain deals on cars on here, but you got to be happy with the car choice.
The second golden rule is definitely to pay a small amount of the percentage of the list price as possible.
Deals on the 150bhp 1.4 A4 are back by the look of it, on the Avant this time. 23% of list over the two years, not too shabby if you need a mid-sized estate. Decent enough spec too, Nav as standard, upgraded audio over the SE.
