Looking to lease a run around, this seems like a decent deal. Spoke with them earlier about a DSG car and they actually quoted me a price cheaper than what's on the website, it's a limited offer apparently.

Noticed they've got some Golf R deals on there as well:

http://www.logic-car.co.uk/vw-golf-r-2-0tsi-300ps-...
VW Golf R 2.0TSi 300ps Hatchback 5 Door (Nav)
Business Contract Hire
£229.00 +VAT (£2061.00 +VAT initial payment)
Personal Contract Hire
£274.80 inc VAT (£2473.20 inc VAT initial payment)
Contract term: 24 months (9+23)
Annual mileage: 5,000 (+£18 for 8k pa or +£29 for 10k pa)

http://www.logic-car.co.uk/vw-golf-r-estate-lease-...
VW Golf R 2.0 TSi 300ps DSG Estate (Nav)
Business Contract Hire
£219.99 +VAT (£1979.91 +VAT initial payment)
Personal Contract Hire
£263.99 inc VAT (£2375.89 inc VAT initial payment)
Contract term: 24 months (9+23)
Annual mileage: 8,000

Not sure how good they are compared to the bargain deals from a little while ago - 9 months initial rental is a bit of a hit...

Yes insane. Even when you factor in my payments of £2750 down and 4 x £295 its still a massive drop of £14k on list.

I wouldn't get hung up on using list price as the bench mark, many list prices are over inflated leaving plenty of profit margin; I looked at a bmw 435d cab, list price £49k but they are offering them at £39k, the finance companies will secure further discount when ordering large quantities.

I currently have a 535d on a 2 year deal with 6 months left. List price was £45k, over the two years it will cost me £9k inc vat (9+23 @£300 per month) it's probably worth £22-£25k at the end of the lease. I could have probably paid £35k with discount if bought new, leasing company (Arval) will get further discount for ordering volume.

Could anyone tell me what the normal time for processing an application is? Worried I might be being strung along by TFSVL. The application was sent Thursday morning and have now been told to 'Most likely Monday' for a decision. Finance is coming from Mercedes.

Is this normal ?
Yes this is quite normal it depends how busy the funders are
What would happen if I were to cancel with this company and go with another ?

I just don't want any problems come delivery time and I'm not too happy with how the process has gone / the poor customer service up to now so even though they had the cheapest price I am slightly put off & want to use another broker

What exactly is the purpose of list prices these days? They'd may as well just pick a random number out the sky.

Father in-law has just put a deposit down on the new Anniversary Limited Edition Jeep Cherokee. List price is just over £50k, he's paying £39k. Why even have a list price?!?

To make you feel you're getting a cracking deal when in reality you've just paid £39k for a Jeep!!

Finally, I get to say it......I just "PULLED THE TRIGGER".........

Workplace salary sacrifice scheme that popped up today on the KIA Soul EV

1+35 profile
£262/month
10k miles/annum
Includes maintenance, tyres and fully comp insurance for me and my Mrs.

Sounds alright that I reckon!!??
You've taken into account the tax changes announced in the autumn statement I hope?
Just had an email from CPC drive and as long as the car is ordered before the end of 2016 they guarantee the price for the term of the agreement. I'm looking forward to getting the car anyway, it looks a bit bonkers but seems to be very well reviewed and has every extra you could ever need.

Gone for this colour combo

His current 2010 plate Cherokee is on autotrader now for £10k, he said as a favour to me and the missus we could have it for £6k. Tbh I don't think I'd want it even for £3k

Thirsty slow 3.0L V6 twin turbo diesel, does around 25mpg, £500+ tax etc etc. No ta.

Exactly. I wasn't just being rude about Jeep, there are plenty of cars with outrageous list prices that will never be achieved. They get discounted but to a level that is still ambitious imo. Just look at discounts on larger Mercs, 25% is achievable a lot of the time.

Look at the BMW 340i. Can get it for around 36k. Brand new...

Are we saying when gettting a lease taking the gap is very advisable as the company will ask for list price if total loss. I've read through my Lexus agreement and it says nothing about making up the list price shortfall, it simply says to refer my insurer to Lexus financial services, nothing else. Surly, insurance is to cover your loss not make a profit, they certainly would if they recovered full list for used car.

That is not true at all. I know, I have it all in writing from the horses mouth and ALA who are experts.
1. If there is a total loss, the car and it's value is between your insurer and the financier (VWFS etc). Nothing to do with the lessee. If VWFS don't like the payout, they take it up with your insurer. It is NOT anything for you to worry about.
2. The lease payments are ALL due. So take out a £400X36 deal and write it off on day one. You owe the finance company 14,400 but anything less is up to them to decide.
3. The gap is to cover this 14.4k not any insurance payout shortfall.

Obviously with PCP you own the car so any insurance shortfall is an issue for you
