If it's of interest Silverstone have emailed with the XC60 D4 190 R Design Nav for £238 a month including vat on a 9+35 for 10k per year.

~£3500 a year for 3 years seems ok - may be of interest if the fuel costs in a T5 are putting anyone off.

Bit far fetched but I'm wondering if they're gathering financial details and somehow up to no good.
It does make you wonder.

Sending all sorts of personal details - name, DOB, address, job details, salary, bank account number/sort code etc. All this information is sometimes sent via non-encrypted methods on a few brokers' websites that I've seen.

Then you're asked for scanned copies of wage slips, driver's licence and bank statements. What happens with all this information, is it destroyed? Or stored on a desktop computer that's on 24/7 for anyone to see? Any shady character within their business could phone up your bank with all the above details to hand....come to think of it, are any of the employees CRB/DBS checked? laugh

Several years ago I applied via an online broker and they wanted their admin fee. I remember the guy was jotting down my credit card details on a notepad because the 'card terminal was at the other end of the office mate'. Admin fee was processed 2 days later, wonder where that piece of paper was kept in the meantime? And where it is now...

I know we're leasing cars here so it's inevitable that financial information has to be handed over, but is there some sort of code of conduct for these brokers? FastBug, any ideas?

Of course, chances are small of anything untoward happening. But it does raise a good point...

It's not really CVL's fault if your too slow to snap up the "headline" deals smile
Of course. The deals are limited and if you're too slow thats your problem.

But in my case I was told I was one of the lucky ones but have been ignored since.

I'd suspect they can't afford to screw up other wise the FCA will be crawling all over them for failing to meet compliance standards/negligence

Have a look here are these any good?

http://www.whatcar.com/car-leasing/deals/volkswage...
Term: 3 + 23
3 Payments Upfront
+ 23 Monthly Payments
Mileage: 10,000mpa
Monthly: £240.00 (+VAT)

So works out £288 a month which is quite similar to what I got (but without the metallic paint). Decent deal - guessing they are looking to give it a face lift at some point this year which is why we are seeing the offers.

Where did you get this Scirocco deal with the £850 deposit?? Who did you speak to? Seems like the best deal I've seen so far pal.
It was through a VW dealer who were advertising on CHL. The deposit is actually over £1400 but VW are adding a contribution so my actual upfront cost is only £850 smile

I only had a brief experience with CVL when the Tiguan R-Line deals were floating around, and they were more than useless with that.

They (as I'm sure many of them do) advertise fantastic headline deals and assure you the "deals are real" but I've yet to find anyone who has actually got a physical car out of their "headline deals."
They are truly shocking. The guy I dealt with was pretty rude and arrogant and like he was doing me a favour by even talking to me. I have no idea how some.of these cowboys stay in business.
I had two cars from them, managed to find a similar but even better deal from Vehicles4Work this time round though. Never had any problems dealing with them, and in each case got exactly the deal they were advertising.

Just had an email from my broker, my car goes back in July.

''Due to most vehicle manufacturers reducing UK stock, vehicle lead times have been extended. Some are now
quoting lead times of 6 months plus for factory orders''

Is this true? They're asking to speak to me about a key for key replacement - of course I am going to shop about but wonder if I REALLY need to start searching for a replacement now?

Yes it was. Have a Leon 184FR, it's only used as a family hack so ideally want to stick around the £200-250 mark P/M. Wife quite fancies a Cooper/Cooper SD but their deals on a MINI look expensive.

Hi Nick,

This all depends on what car you are looking for. Most factory orders are available sooner than July.

Alternatively you can see what campaign stock deals are available nearer the time.

I hope this helps.

I'm not aware of anything just for brokers, but the FCA are pretty clear about what you're meant to do. Not sure how many follow these though. We have locked sensative waste bins, don't take payments over the phone and I always delete emails with props on. All common sense, but you do wonder!

This is a valid point especially when dealing with a new company. This is why it's so important to deal with a reputable, well established, FCA registered company.
As Fastbug has stated to be FCA compliant all secure paperwork is disposed via secure means that we don't hold a key to. No personal information is held on individual PC's of which all have separate logins and passwords.
Any payments should be made via a secure online payment e.g. world pay. Taking card details over the phone is non compliant and shouldn't be happening especially when most calls are recorded for 'training purposes'.

I hope this helps.
