Hello all, bit of a dull one.

Gf's car is nearing death and shes looking for a replacement, a small hatchback that isn't "boring", "ugly" or "a horrible colour" appears to be her priorities. It also needs to be cheap to insure, safe, and have AC and bluetooth really. She also really likes chrome, oddly.

Now, after a visit to Mercedes World shes convinced she can't be doing with anything older than 13 plate, and keeps looking at cars around £5-7k which are just out of warranty, but I'm convinced she can get a new car on PCP and not be much worse off. I just know she'll be bored of the car in 2 years and will want something German and 'premium'.

So, what are her options? I'd say she'll need a 10k milage allowance and she has £3k for a deposit. Used (cash), new (finance) or PCP?

Hi, all of these options are not covered by this thread really, it's about Leasing.
There is a PCP thread Click Here but you are better off starting your own thread asking the options.

Keep £1.5k of the deposit in savings.

Put circa £1.5k down on a new Golf/Seat/A3/Focus/Astra/whatever she wants. Pay the affordable (to her) monthly patents out of income and not savings.

Enjoy it just as much as buying a brand new car out of the dealership in full, but only finance the depreciation over the term.

At the end of it, repeat.

No need to enter the depths of the old used car market with a £7k whatever. It works for us. And all in my opinion of course.

If she can buy a 2013 Merc for £5-7k then that will most likely be a lot cheaper than leasing.
A class are about £6k for 2yr lease.

Interesting they mention Lings cars, I thought that was leasing not PCP? Or is it like the bit on Jeremy Vine the other week where there was a lot of confusion between PCP and leasing?

Fatal mistake asking opinion after fisting the kumquat smile

If your happy then great but a 335d would have comfortable cost less than your 4 pot, although I admit I'm not sure what gizmos premium gives you

Cheers

Anyway, you've ordered the car, so a bit late to can as option. Just enjoy it when it arrives.
