Freedom have a good reputation afaik.
Ha, I don't know what is happening there. I am a bit of a lurker but I definitely have more than 1 post!

Thanks for your reply. Hopefully it checks out because that deal is great! I am wary as this is my first foray into leasing and the dealer certainly didn't help!

Golf R 3dr
9+23
6000miles
£221.46 inc VAT (personal)
Total for term £7086.72 (+admin fee £360)

Looks like one of the cheaper deals, though personally I've never looked at this company before, it just popped up as a suggested post on my facebook feed!

Pretty much what I signed up for 2 weeks back but on a 3+23 profile. included met paint. I've dealt with all required paperwork and await some sort of confirmation from National Fleet Services.

Seat Leon 290 DSG ST is up to £191.99 monthly £2400 upfront believe now. Still a good deal - but not as good as it was - have to be quick in this lease game!

This was £20 a month cheaper last week (it went up end of last week). There is plenty of discussion on this deal in the Vol 2 of this thread and the specific Golf R thread.

Also if anyone does go for it, I'd recommend the DSG for sure!

The 5kpa deal has been pulled from the vw system. So now it is approx £800 more expensive across the term.
If you have an existing quote produced from the system then that is your only chance of getting a deal at the cheaper rate.

I know it's been said many times before, but if gong to a dealer, you need to speak to the business manager, not a salesman.

The 3dr Cupra Black is now also receiving support (previously only 5dr & ST), quoting at £226 on a 3/23, 5k, 7.2p xs. Speak to a SEAT Business Manager. I held off ordering the 5dr last week because i couldn't quite stomach the looks, hoping for the 3dr to come through. Unfortunately, so much time has passed that my missus has decided the S3 is the only car she wants now. Having said that, the LPG deal isn't exactly hard to swallow. Free trackday tyres again too. Whoop

BLOWN2CV - S3 slower ? Please qualify. In std guise, there's nothing in my mates S3 and my Golf. The new S3 has a little more power. Please explain.

I have just popped into a Seat dealer regarding the Leon Cupra deal posted in the old thread (I wanted to see what one was like) and they pretty much laughed me out of the showroom on the prices. Does anyone have any first hand experience of Freedom Leasing? They said there was no way it could be legitimate at those prices. Thank you.

Just tell them you will take the car as is and they should refund you the cost of the option.

I would probably speak direct to Vw customer services. You may get a better answer from them
not really what i meant. The lease will be for the car you've got, so if the option is not on the car, you won't pay for it in the lease figures, so there is no refund as such. However that just puts you back into the position of having ordered the car without the option, which is clearly not the case. I'd be angling for £100 M&S vouchers as an additional sorry, being as it was entirely their fault.

My wife is very tempted by the Leon Cupra. She visited the local dealers a few weeks ago as she had seen a good deal on the ibiza FR, walked out with quotes for a Leon Sport coupe.

Best quote she has been offered is for a Sport Coupe 290 black with DSG 3+23 5k pa £240 + vat fully maintained, via vehicle savers.

I watched a video review recently of the Golf R and RS3. The Golf bested the RS3's lap time by 0.5 second. Review link

And while the Audi has more power (marginally) on paper.... Drag race at Santa Pod

For what is is worth your drag race video was against an 8P chassis S3 which is about 35hp down.

I look at it this way, driving either of these cars with the DSG gearbox for circa £300 per month on 3+23 is a damn good price and you can't go wrong with either. Don't know about any of you but my lease car is never going to see a track.

Car was supposed to be deliverd today. Received a phone call from VW on friday to say the car had not had the factory fittd extras we had paid for, it was only one extra the apple connect. They are now trying to source a similar spec VW from another dealer or they will need to order a new one with end of september delivery. Problem is 4th baby arrived in 3 weeks and we need the 7 seats to be able to go out as a family. Nothing is ever easy.
That can be retro fitted in less than half an hour.
They have tried this and for some reason they say it can not.
IMO its not really worth it, but as said above, i think it depends on the build date as MY17 is running now i think?

Car salesman is car salesman

It's not in his interest for you to PCH a Seat
It's not in his interest that the industry is gradually moving away from purchasing
He hits his targets through selling a PCP with a couple of policies thrown in to mugs like us

(etc)
