I thought the same. But then I see people with cracked phone screens all the time and that baffles me too.

Considering a personal lease for the wife.

£1500 down and £200 a month (inc VAT) would be fine.

Only does 5,000 miles pa.

Doesn't need to be maintained.

Would prefer something not terribly slow as coming from a 235bhp Alfa!

She would prefer something German and it would need to be not too big but big enough to have 2 x kiddy seats in the back.

I guess that means a Golf or A3? What are the best deals?

As with many leases the prices may reflect the depreciation. I think we all know what happens to big fords.
In case you don't - less than 12 months old - nearly 10k off.

And there was me thinking they were both new Aston Martins.

Vanarama have a nice looking A6 Avant Ultra 2.0 TDI S-Line S-Tronic offer - £1700 down - £278 - all inc VAT personal.

Are they reliable genuine offers? I rememeber they had the allroad at a good price too.

What does everyone put under 'When did you purchase the car' for car insurance? The date they booked the car or 'not bought yet'?
I tried entering the date of booking May 2016 however I keep getting an error 'The year of purchase cannot be earlier than the year of manufacture. Please check and re-enter' as its a 2017 model.

I put the date of collection/delivery as that's the date I take possession.

Plastic part with remote detached itself from metal emergency key. I was not even aware it's detachable. Lost it on 50-100m walk between the car and flat. Never found it and I think I was lucky my car was still there after 2 days when I noticed it. Now I'm extra careful with MB keys.

If it's a lease car then technically you haven't purchased it so 'not bought yet' is what i think i put if memory serves me correctly. Wasn't a problem to proceed with online quotes on comparison sites.

Why are you putting 2017? It's asking you what year it was manufactured, not what model year it is.

Purchase date is date of delivery.

Blame the wife for this. It was hung up in a special hidden place for keys and just disappeared after the wife used it just a couple of weeks ago!

Golf GTD would come within that budget, available from stock. Ours arrives tomorrow, replaces a 120hp Alfa Guilietta.

Hi all,

I have been looking at deals for Mercedes E class Convertible on personal lease for end of December delivery. As the new model is due to be released sometime in 2017 would you recommend hanging on for a couple of months to see how the prices go? Anyone found any recent deals recently?

E Class Diesel Cabriolet
E220d AMG Line Edition Premium 2dr 7G-Tronic
2 door, Diesel, Automatic

I have seen anywhere from £421 per month at luxury leasing (36, +9 10k) to £525 (same) per month however still trying to benchmark what is a good deal.

Any help massively appreciated. Cheers all!

Going to ask a question that I'm sure someone will say 'ask the lease company', however I am trying to avoid them until I sell my wife's A1 Style Edition. I have a car ordered through a lease company and they have contacted me a few times saying the car is ready for delivery. I don't want to commit to a delivery date if I can't sell the A1! I have paid the admin fee, so understand I will lose that, however would I face anymore financial penalties if I cancelled the order? I thought the A1 would sell really quickly, as it's a nice spec with low mileage and one of the cheapest advertised!

got a good quote from allcarleasing on an S3 (5 door tiptronic sportback)

3x23, 5000 miles pa with maintenance and tyre cover £343 inc vat .

Am paying £303 for a 5door dsg golf r with maintenance (ok, 10k miles and it was a 6x23) but get heated leather and nav as standard on the S3 so think i might just go for that...

99% sure its the best deal i am going to get.

lead time? 10-12 weeks... frown
Had something simular from them also, Audi S3 Sportback 9+23, 10,000pa, non maintained with metallic paint. Delivery October £238.44 + vat.

Golf R estate on a 9+23, 10,000pa non maintained, solid colour with sat nav and winter pack. Delivery December £230.77 + vat.

The golf was my initial car of enquiry but am tempted by the S3...

I've just returned that model after two years through Freedom.

Two things, firstly those prices sound high, I paid £401 a month plus 9 months down for the same mileage and would expect to do better.

Second, if you can get the E250. The 220 is the same engine but single turbo, it's not a nice version at all.

Try freedom contracts or Applied Leasing, both will beat that price.

Just looked at Freedom and they are quoting £363.59 inc vat (9 months down) for personal 10k pa
