A mate of mine has a Jaguar XF on lease. Do most of you guys miss your second year service? My mate was thinking about delaying the first service by 3-4 weeks so he doesn't have to get service B. Will it work?

Thanks in advance
Yes it will probably work. The day they pick it up if it isn't overdue a service how can they bill him for one. If its due in a couple of days they might but if its not on the driver display I think it will be fine.

He could check with the funder or his T's and C's to see if it mentions if servicing must be done if due within a month of return but I think he will be fine.

When did the M140i launch? I've been offered what's listed as an unused but registered M135i on a 16 plate for £278 a month (with heated seats, comfort pack, metallic paint, tinted windows and pro media). 6+23/10k.

I assume that's not a typo and it's too old to be an M140i?
I think the first M140i UK deliveries were only a month or two ago, so if it's a pre-reg on a 16 plate it probably is an M135i.

Assume inc VAT? A superb deal especially if it's 10k pa, even at 5k pa it's still a very good deal - especially considering there's £2.5k worth of options there.

10k including VAT. It should be a 12+23 deal but the broker I used for my current M135i is contributing towards the deposit due to an issue with another car I ordered.

At the moment it's between a manual M135i with options or an M240i with the auto box but no options apart from metallic paint for £20/month more.

I prefer the 1 series for being more practical. But the 2 series is possibly the better deal on balance.

They've also come up with a similar deal on the S3 Sportback (6+23 £300) but suggested they might be able to reduce the deposit on that as well, which would potentially make it the cheapest option.

That's the first time I've seen the Saloon for anywhere near reasonable.

It's a dead handsome car as well. Think it's my favourite looking compact saloon.

I would never consider the S3 3dr/5dr but the looks of the saloon make it very tempting despite it being a disconnected drive compared to the R. Have to admit to being a little unsure on the interior of the S3 too. That pop up screen and the dial and mess of buttons behind the gear lever. They also stopped Sepang Blue and the black styling kit for some reason.

Personally I have an R on order for Dec that has been delayed multiple times and I am considering cancelling (especially now the facelift is coming) and taking the S3 saloon. Hmmm.

Randomly I took at look at the new E Class last night - despite all the rave reviews the interior was terrible.

It's because the S3 doesn't have a touchscreen. The screen is actually somewhere that you can see it, and the controls are directly to hand and can mostly be operated by feel.

In a car, I'll take a few ugly controls over a touchscreen any day. I'm hoping they go out of fashion before I need to change my car again!

The saloon is about £45 more per month on select car leasing but it comes with 19 inch wheels and adaptive suspension as standard which are worth approx £2000. Much more competitive than the prices were when I ordered my S3 sportback, the saloon was well north of £400.

What's missing from the standard S3 spec? The spec seems better than when I nearly ordered one ~12 months ago, am I right in thinking that heated seats and cruise control are now standard?

The fact these weren't always standard shows just how piss poor the s3 spec is. Unbelievable.

Do they really want over £400 for rear only sensors?! Mental.

I would really miss the touchscreen on the Golf - much prefer it to using a dial. In my friends A6 that pop up screen wobbles when driving on rough roads and has jammed on occasion. Also not a fan of the graphics Audi use. In terms of spec no parking sensors, no folding mirrors, no ACC.......
Good job the S3 saloon looks so good! Would never consider the 3dr/5dr

I added privacy glass and metallic paint. Added £9 per month.

Not bad from the look of it, although unless you really need the estate I'd be more tempted by the new AMG Line E220 with the 9G gearbox for another £20 or so a month on a 6+23, 10K deal. A lot more car for the money IME. (The wife has the current C-Class, I previously had 2 x E Class)

Thought the same as most are badly implemented and un-responsive. Then tried the new Incontrol Touch Pro in an XF and it was fantastic.

Are you business though or personal? (That deal is business)

My SLK (250 cdi) is due to go back in the first week in January. I'm just looking around with what to replace it with.
I'm being offered an M240i (auto).
It's £295 per month, this is based on a 9 plus 23 deal with 8000 miles a year. These figures include VAT as this will be a personal lease as I don't fancy paying benefit in kind. - this is with Whitewater leasing, I've used them before, they supplied my wife's i3 at the end of last year.

I just wondered if anyone knew of any better deals for this car.
The only slight technical snag that I've got is that the M240's our stock cars, they've got the colour I want and apparently they're all standard specification, that I really didn't want to take delivery until the very least the beginning of December.

Yeah it's personal I'm looking for, it's £263 a month, upfront payment of £2370.

Was just round the Local Audi garage and now thinking of an Audi Estate if I can get the right deal, all the extras seem to add on a fortune.
