I fully understand that but i asked the dealer and they said yes to delivery. I never imagined them driving it there.
It's mentioned often enough in this thread, and there must be a question every couple of pages about whether the delivery mileage counts towards the contracted lease mileage.

There was one dealer in the NE supplying the cheap Alltracks who was delivering them on a truck, but that's the only one I can recall.

Our company lease cars were always driven to us. Every VW dealer who quoted on the Tiguan I bought through carwow would only drive it, or pay for a train ticket for us to collect.

I think its just luck... my last delivery was the super cheap lease deal on A4 avant. Came from down south on a lorry who was dropping off about 5 other cars. That was with TARGET and VWFS. Ive had 1 other personal lease and that was truck delivery. I have also had 2 company cars and 1 was truck and 1 was delivered by driver (only 80 miles though)

I asked my new lease company of the golf r will be delivered on a truck or driver and they are getting back to me. He did say that there would be no fee either way

Ordered one on Friday, tried to go with as little options as possible, so went for non metallic black, red seats and had to get the virtual cockpit. My current cars PCP is out in April but I've got to take it before the 31st March, so the 31st it is.

A long wait to go.

Interesting enough it was only about 50p more a month to go from 8-10k miles, £25 more to go to 12k though.

Agree V4B were great.

That's the colour combo I'd have gone with but I kept my sensible head on when it came to specing metallic.

You clearly are a man of taste. smile

Ordered a S5 with V4B today too believe yesterday was their last day of orders went for Manhattan Grey, Vision and Light pack, black leathers, flat bottom steering wheel, folding mirrors and virtual cockpit. Service has been really good from V4B so far great communication and efficient. My current Golf R is going back in March so will be picking my S5 up on the 1st March 2017 - long wait but looking forward to it!

Pity the S5 deal was only available on the coupe and not the sport back.

Still can't really find anything to match the golf R on a lease. Looking for decent performance, 4WD for Scottish winters and a hatchback or estate for the dog.

What's the difference? You'll just take time out of your day to collect the car. The car will still arrive at your house with the same mileage.

Winters have been very mild. I run a rwd v8 no issue through 'winter' last year in the highlands..

That being said - I have ordered a gti - quite winter friendly.

Firstly, it's my bum on the seat not some sweaty fat bloke. Two, i can get acquainted with some of the toys. Third, i would like to at least see it in the flesh before it's signed over to me. Maybe the dealer can run through the operation of a few things.

You can reject a car upon delivery if it's damaged/not the right spec or colour and so on. You should get a handover on delivery and run through controls and don't expect flowers or a bottle of bubbly when you collect the car. And you don't even want to think about how many people have been sat in the drivers seat from the moment it rolled off the production line.

Both the dealer I worked for previously, and the current dealership I work for never saw the cars as they are prepared at the import centre. We did get the odd customer at my last place that wanted to collect from us though.

I am surprised people are so precious about a lease car. I can sort of understand it if you planned to keep the car for a longtime, but I was more than happy to have someone deliver the car to me - I once had a new car delivered on a transporter and the front and rear bumper paint was damaged from rubbing due to the way the numpty had loaded it.

Just to manage your expectations, I think I've done half a dozen handovers in the past 7 or 8 years in fleet. You may get a proper handover, you may just get the keys given to you by admin. Most fleet guys are field based, some days we don't have any sales people in the office at all as they're out with customers

I have a Seat Leon lease expiring in around 11 months time. Normally I'd hand it back and get a new one but I'm going to only need a car for 1 more year after that before moving abroad. Is it possible to extend a lease or to lease a car for 1 year?

I'm totally new to leasing.

What are people's experiences with VehicleSavers?

Do leasing companies typically move on their website prices? Is going direct to a dealer worth trying (will they price match a lease website)?

Currently I'm looking for a cheap (sub £150pm) for the wife to do sub 6,000 miles.
