I've ordered an S5 sportback black on black with the flat bottom steering wheel and virtual cockpit.

With the increase in leg and head room it's going to be a very versatile car I informed the wife.
Who did you use in the end pal?

Apologies if a silly question, i'm new to leasing... the S5 deal, it seems very good from all the comments... is it the kind of thing that comes up often, or is it a particularly amazing deal that's once in a blue moon?

It's a bit more than i'd budgeted, but i'm seriously tempted. Having only been looking at this forum for a few days, i'm wary about biting the bullet, if that makes sense.

Cheers in advance!
I would agree with Burwood's comments.

The S5 deal is very good, especially considering it's a brand new model.

I didn't give this one a lot of thought before jumping in as I've missed out on several really good deals like this since they don't hang around for long. I was actually wanting to order an M4 to buy outright but the discounts have dropped this quarter and it will be touch and go next quarter as to whether a car could be delivered before the April tax changes.

If you're considering ordering you need to act quickly as it will end as suddenly as it appeared.

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting a new job in about a month which is a big salary increase plus allowance. Currently I have a company car. I don't have the cash available to buy something outright right now due to a house move but monthly payments plus a smallish deposit isn't an issue so I'm looking a a lease option. I could go down the 2nd hand route and finance something but I just need something reliable with a warranty.

Where do you all even start looking for lease deals. There seem to be 100's of sites out there and the prices vary wildly, I'm assuming between stock and non stock cars etc.

Basically I'm interested in a something like an E class or 5 series size car, 20k miles PA on a 3+23.

Anyone able to give me any pointers or are there brokers that will take care of this sort of thing for me!

Thanks in advance.

Good place to start would be contracthireandleasing.com and then use the filters to what you require.

Then check popular leasing sites such as freedom leasing, select leasing, mad sheep, etc for deals

Great... I very much appreciate the advice. Slight spanner in the works... i'm currently on a 6 month sabattical from work, travelling. Just been informed my employer processed me as a 'leaver', and sent me a P45! So dont know how that would affect me getting past the credit check! I have perfect credit last time I checked...

Any financial experts know if this will be an issue?

Start here: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com

Be prepared to dig around and play with spec's and look for the special offers.

Sometimes higher spec' = lower cost with leasing.

Ok'ish deals on 520d M sport at the moment but your mileage doesn't help

Need to shop around and see which is best, buy miles up front or pay at end

I'm not an financial expert, so I'll put that out there to start with.

I don't think the credit check would be an issue, per se, but you will have to fill in a finance proposal which will ask about income and outgoings, etc, and your employer's details, although I know they didn't contact mine for this lease or the previous one.

How you complete that proposal might be a stumbling block.

We've just received an email from Gateway2Lease to say our Tiguan delivery has been delayed until the end of December. Christmas isn't the ideal time for us to take delivery as we're away and also as we need to sell our existing car (I imagine this will be much easier to do in January).

Is it possible to specify a delivery date a few weeks down the line? Ideally, we would like to receive the car at the end of Jan as that should give us enough time to sell our car.

Ah ok... well, I can prove my outgoings! But my incomings stopped in June... I guess I could still put them as my employer, and chance it. My car allowance covers the cost anyway so it's not like there's any risk. Much appreciated, cheers...

A word of warning to anyone ordering through V4B on the Audi S5 - in the T&C's it states if you cancel the order you have to pay 15% of the total value of the car.
Almost all other leasing companies you just lose your admin fee of a few hundred quid.

In other words, dont order if there is even a slight chance you might change your mind!

Have had a few retired people go through with MBFS. If you have the job offer letter from your new employer stating salary and car allowance that could help you out

Saw this and thought it was quite a good deal:

M140i
10k.
£319pcm including VAT, 3+23
£345 pcm all in.

I don't think I've seen a 140 under £350 all in before (but apols if this has already been covered)

But how can you cope with the Auto box.... frown

Easy - this is a totally different car than the R and one I doubt ill drive too hard. I see the S5 as more of a cruiser with a nice engine note and a good cabin so i think a slushy auto box will suit it.
I never really thrashed the Golf R that much to be honest. Still got 4mm on the original tyres 14k in.

Not just the lack of interaction though it also ruins the noise! Horrible horrible kickdown and lazy upshift tone/note frown

Was that your experience of driving the new S5?
