At a slightly more mundane level than the S5 chat I’ve just ordered a Skoda Octavia Scout 2.0tdi 184 DSG from Target Car Leasing. Quartz Grey Metallic, 2-3 week delivery.

3+23, 10k miles, £5,900.33.
No admin fees
8.33ppm excess

I’ve driven a Golf GTD with the 184 engine and DSG ‘box and it felt pretty rapid for a 2.0 diesel so looking forward to seeing how the Octavia feels.
My friend has an A3 with same engine and DSG and it seems pretty quick. Definitely suited to the non-manual 'box.
Weirdly, the thing that put me off the Scout was that even the 184 DSG model comes with Halogen headlights. They just seem so old-tech to me now, the orangey light so dated and rubbish to see with. Given that so many cars are coming with LED lights as standard now they're a couple of generations behind!
Yeah the only fly in the ointment really, but I still have a set of H7 Osram Nightbreakers in the garage from when I was running a halogen equipped Passat which I assume will fit the Scout.

Not impressed with fleetsauce I have to say, had several quotes from them over the last few days, went to press the button with them on an S5 Sportback, filled out the prop form and then they said oh sorry, err, we quoted a price exc VAT.

S5, based on 6+35, 20k miles p/a, they quoted £434 p/m inc VAT, then after I've sent the prop form they changed it to £521 p/m. Not impressed at all.

Octavia has been for some time on the market so maybe that's why halogens are still standard lights.
But how about new Tiguan? Middle SE Nav trim, which I have on lease a week now, has both dipped and high beams on H7. Even DRLs are filament. LEDs are on SEL i R-Line as standard though.

For those of you that have placed orders for S5's via the various brokers have you had your confirmation that you are getting the car yet?

The reason I ask is that I spoke with CVL today and he informed me that I'm currently in a holding pool waiting for Friday to see if another allocation of cars from Audi will be released. He's pretty confident that another batch will be released but obviously that could change...

Waiting to hear back from another broker in the morning as he apparently can source me one via his dealer but will confirm 100% in the morning. My order was submitted to CVL on Tuesday too...

Seems reasonable. I would drive one first though - the body roll and handling might not be what you expect. The 335 x drive doesnt actually come with MSport suspension despire being labelled an MSport it just gets the bog standard 3 series set up.

So £319pcm all in for 5k. The one I posted on the previous page is £345 all in for 10k, which seems about right (6.24ppm for the extra 5k pa)

So sub-£300 for a 135 @ 8k sounds excellent value.
