Got final quote on the S5 coupe...

23 X £357.99
£3277 deposit

Thats for 10000 miles. No reason to not do it is there? Again, bit wary as a first time leaser... but given all the previous comments, think I will take the plunge...
Who was that with? And has it been confirmed?
I filled the form in on Tuesday for mine, but told allocation has gone - waiting for more to be released.

Is that including any options?

But how can you cope with the Auto box.... frown

Easy - this is a totally different car than the R and one I doubt ill drive too hard. I see the S5 as more of a cruiser with a nice engine note and a good cabin so i think a slushy auto box will suit it.
I never really thrashed the Golf R that much to be honest. Still got 4mm on the original tyres 14k in.
Not just the lack of interaction though it also ruins the noise! Horrible horrible kickdown and lazy upshift tone/note frown
Was that your experience of driving the new S5?
No of course I haven't driven it. But I have driven that particular gearbox and an auto is an auto!

Im not even sure the S5 is that great a deal really. £11k+ over term is too rich for me, rather choose any other premium sports car sub £40k on the market and buy outright and then sell on after 24 months (wont get into the lease vs buy debate though)
Were all different mate with different tastes - thats what makes cars and forums like this interesting. I have fully enjoyed the Golf R especially at 207 a month but I realised I didnt want another even if it was DSG against my current manual. With 2 months left on the R I am now looking forward to it going back. The S5 will be a completely different vehicle and I am excited about that. Racing around in the Golf has been great but so is the thought of a 6 cylinder engine with a nice slurry auto box for some relaxed driving. We still have a new Polo GTI manual on the drive (134 a month) for the hot hatch experience anyway!

I am in a similar situation. When you find something to go for explain to the leasing company your position by telephone. When competing online forms I have put a £1 in earned income to process the form. They focus is on your existing incomings and out goings to access you ability to repay. Avoid collecting unnecessary credit searches of your credit file by only perusing the deals you would go for. Finally do not hang around thinking about a good deal because it will be gone.

Those 135 deals are great if you want a car that's already been replaced by something better. 18 months down the line and I'd be regretting jumping in one.
Depends how much you worry about these things I suppose... I'm secure enough to not be too fussed.

Ah I see, I missed the 'booking fee', £180+VAT...

Did you put any extras on? Do you have an expected delivery date at all?

Sorry, I meant to have said: "I would if I were you". I've not ordered one myself.

It should be the same quote I posted earlier in the thread as that's the dealer I was talking to. It's slightly more expensive than a few brokers were offering, but not much, and there are options at 3+23 and 6+23 for a small premium. I think the 3 upfront added about £135 inc vat to the total cost over the term.

Apologies, just seen this... no options on that, the 2 I want are the virtua cockpit and the flat bottomed wheel, ive asked for a new quote to include them but think the difference will be miniscule... Its with Fleetsauce

Its with Fleetsauce... he seems confident that it will be February delivery. Ive asked him if its 100% definite that they have them, awaiting response as well as the quote with a couple of extras. I'll let you know... who was yours through?

OK, I know it's not a lease but I've just pulled the trigger (can you still say that if it's not a lease) on this PCP: http://www.richmondmotorgroup.com/citroen/new-cars...

3 door: £99 & 37 x £99
5 door: £112 & 37 x £112

I'll treat it as a lease and just hand it back at the end of the term. Motoring doesn't get much cheaper!

The smaller deposit with minimum premium is really appealing.... thanks for the heads up

That is great value.... Only sticking point is the length of term. 3yrs is a bit too long.

^This.

37 months is an odd amount - presumably to ensure the customer pays for the 1st MOT and any potential repairs.

I prefer 2 year contracts because you're less likely to need a change in tyres, less services and you change cars more frequently.

Personally, I would have asked a dealer to match this deal (less admin fee):

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

Cheaper, more miles, 1.2 engine as opposed to 1.0, more doors and a 18 month contract.

Already looking for a replacement for the stolen Touareg - see gassing station

My wife wants a small hatch and I want something that isn't totally bland

Need to keep costs down due to recent thefts so was looking at the Polo GTI

Anyone seen a better deal than this, needs to be in stock or short lead time;

http://www.carleasing-online.co.uk/volkswagen-polo...

Thanks

Hey Burty, was it a lease? If so are they asking for the balance of the payments? That's a real bummer have BOTH cars taken in the same event. God I hate thieves.
