Thanks for that. I ran the Skoda past the missus. I'm sure you can all guess the replies.

Looking at the Tiguan now, but struggling to find anything that is much south of the magic 25%.

SE Nav 2.0 (150) Based on 24760 cash price quoted on carwow.

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

193.99*23
1737 initial
180 doc

In stock. Urano Grey

24.29% of cash price.

Tempted to just pull the trigger, but as I'm still very much a newbie, wonder if it can be bettered at the moment.
I'd say thats a good deal. 22% of list (I make it 25.8% of your carwow price).

Having the car in stock adds value too IMO. Two-three week delivery beats waiting for months with no guarantee of a date.

Absolutely- I only ever go "in stock" and give it a couple of weeks before I want delivery.

The other thing for n00bs is to not load up with options; any option you add to a lease car you pay for over the term of the lease IN FULL. For example if you specify some e.g. nav system that's 2400 quid then it will add about 100 a month to your payments.

I just lease Mercs and I go for the base with AMG pack - don't pay for other stuff. I've been very lucky and always managed to get free metallic and on the E class coupe I smashed up (and it's identical replacement due soon, hopefully) a free glass roof.

The other classic newbie error is vacillation. These deals don't hang around.

Free?! Suspect this may be another example of my nonexistent negotiating skills: too keen to secure the car.......

On the first one after all the paperwork was done the lease broker rang up and said "there's been a problem, it's actually got a pano roof, that's an extra 36 pounds a month". I wasn't wearing that at all, and they let me have it gratis in the end. Got to say it was a pretty tricky thing to have, though. I then crashed this car a couple of weeks ago frown which was such a shame - it was lovely and in that colour with those options I thought I'd never have another.

Anyway - roll on the E class deal above came up and I've got the same car, same colour and with the pano roof. Bonus is that it's 80/month less than the other, which I can put toward my doubtless stratospheric insurance renewal.

Ah, makes me feel slightly better. I wouldn't have worn that either. And can't complain about this deal even with paying for the roof. What colour is your car out of interest?

Nice. Not always sure about blue on cars but that does look really really good.

10 years ago if you'd asked me if I would like a white car I'd have laughed. This is going to be my second consecutive one. Choice at the price point was solid white with pan roof or metallic grey with 360 camera. Think I made the right choice. And family car is grey so would have been extra yawn.... smile

[quote=piperdelux]Hi all...

Been in company cars the last 9 years... due to probable change in circumstances, leases looking like a better way for me. Have had a trawl through here to get some ideas, wondered if anyone could give any thoughts on this deal please:

Audi S3 Sportback 2.0 TFSI quattro 310PS Manual2 Year Contract Hire
10,000 Miles per annum
Payment options
500 + 9 + 23 - £239.99 + VAT
500 + 6 + 23 - £267.82 + VAT
500 + 3 + 23 - £299.37 + VAT

Looks a decent deal? Anyone aware of anything better on an S3? The Golf deal wouldve been sweet but missed the boat...

Hi,

Any new or similar deals? please send the link

I get (got) a lot of compliments on that colour; it's a very adventurous shade for Mercedes. If you go into a showroom they're all black. white or grey, and rarely you'll see something different. Brilliant blue shines out like a beacon under the showroom lights. No idea why everyone buys black ones.

It's not a bad deal but not great. Deposit is very high and payments with VAT are just shy of £300. If you look around you'll get similar cars for a lot cheaper. I missed the boat on the Golf R deals too initially but another offer came up and my current deal is: 2000 (+VAT) / 23 - £149 (+VAT).

There have been some good deals recently on the M140i too so i'd hold out for the moment and see what offers pop up this month as there are bound to be a few good ones. Just have to be patient and look at several models rather than just the S3.

Clearly Nick read the original post wink Here it is for anyone that has an hour to spare, some very amusing posts, especially when Castroses mentions the stairs!!

My insurer is Quotemehappy (Aviva) they eventually settled with VWFS at £30,500 which was in the middle of respective valuations.
