I have a Golf R order in with National Fleet Services and they tell me they absolutely will not give out order numbers but will keep me up-to-date.

I did get the run around and price increase 1 month after they said they ordered it but now have a build week of w/c 29th August from a supposed order placed on 31st May.

P.
I ordered from them last week and had the same, they won't give me an order number as they claim the "terms holders no longer release them". Instead, they've assured me they will provide an update every two weeks. I'm guessing I'm looking at early October for delivery.

Lets see how this pans out....

Sounds like you're being royally messed about.

Ordered mine 6th july, build date mid aug and I have an order no.

A good advert for going direct with VW.

Trust me, had any VW dealer been able to even get close to the deal Vehicle Savers were offering, I would have. I'm due to receive the paperwork for me to sign this week for finance, so first milestone coming up.

I don't have any reason to believe they are messing me about, but time will tell I guess.

Car was supposed to be deliverd today. Received a phone call from VW on friday to say the car had not had the factory fittd extras we had paid for, it was only one extra the apple connect. They are now trying to source a similar spec VW from another dealer or they will need to order a new one with end of september delivery. Problem is 4th baby arrived in 3 weeks and we need the 7 seats to be able to go out as a family. Nothing is ever easy.

That can be retro fitted in less than half an hour.

WRT the A6, I have been informed by my broker that the dealer is onto Audi UK to see if they can reallocate some slots and accelerate delivery. I ordered my A6 Avant Black back in May with mid-August delivery. This is now pushing back to October potentially, which is less than ideal. Broker (Claris) has been very open and honest about the situation and will allow cancellation without penalty if they can't sort it. No money has changed hands, and the broker is being professional about the situation so I'll just wait and see I guess.

Anyhow, if you're in no hurry for a car this popped up on my radar today. Not as cheap as previously and 'only the 218' but may suit someone who missed the Allroad deals -

Apologies, was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the companies above. Fully aware of how the process works ?!?

Indeed. Dealer fit is possible.

To be fair, not all dealers know this. I phoned 3 local dealers who all told me that it couldnt be done. It can, but only on cars with the latest type of entertainment screens.

Possibly some bs, more likely a main dealer who doesnt know the cars as well as they should.

Links please? Can't find anything near the prices quoted on contracthireandleasing!.
Can find the original link/email now. Seems that prices have crept up slightly since last month, although they still seem better value than a 4 series.

They have tried this and for some reason they say it can not.

I spoke to dealer about this and they are adimant it can not be fittd, now they are avoiding all my phone calls and i am getting concerned over what on earth is going on. What should have been a simple process had turned into a nightmare, and all my paperwork clearly showed the extra that was to be fitted.

I think I'd just accept the car and be compensated rather than fk around. Cannot be critical surely?

Agreed. The feature offers very little - to me anyway.

I had similar experience when I wanted it retro fitted, the dealers dont have a clue. There is a long thread on vwroc.com about this which helped me as others have had similar experiences.

Basically the newer head units have a voice button at the bottom left. The older head units have a mute button. If you have the newer head unit then you should be fine for a retro fit.

Just tell them you will take the car as is and they should refund you the cost of the option.

I would probably speak direct to Vw customer services. You may get a better answer from them

Can confirm the above. See the thread below on VWROC:

No physical parts necessary, just a code needs entering. But this is only possible with the MIB2 units, not on the MIB1.

Reading on VW forums it seems that even recently some people have been getting the MIB1 units fitted.

Apparently if the bottom left button is 'Mute' it's MIB1 and can't be updated. If the bottom left button is 'Voice' then it is MIB2 and can be updated/enabled via code.

Hi mate,

I am in the exact same problem with the same broker for my a6 black edition. Ordered in mid May with mid August delivery but Claris has no idea as to when the actual delivery will be. What action will you take? I was thinking about cancelling but I can't seem to find a deal as good as the a6.
