I fancied an S3 but the prices were too close to the S5 to not justify the S5 (especially given the extra kit you get on the S5). The saloon seems dear vs the sportback on lease too doesnt it?
Yeah right now the S3 saloon prices are more than the S5. If they go back to anywhere near they were before (290+VAT), I'll be on them.

Ah I didnt know they were more! When I was looking a few months ago I saw the Sportback was a lot cheaper and didnt consider the saloon (although it would be my preference really).

Been told this morning by someone at Select cars that Audi aren't taking any more orders on the S5 until the end of the year due to an engine shortage

I am told there is problems with some parts they dont have and its delaying everything...estimated date is now starting mid march and that would take 6 weeks....last week it was mid april with delivery mid may

I had the 1.4 ACT engine in my Seat Leon and couldn't fault it, however I always used premium unleaded mostly Tesco Momentum as it seems to stop the flat spots that a lot of the new turbo engines seem to have. Other 2 Fiesta's in the family have always run on Tesco Momentum and run really well.

End of the year? yikes

That's a major setback if that is the case in terms of numbers for them?

So is that going to hold up existing orders? And I presume that also means no S4s either

Someone posted in the last few days about severe delays on the Tiguan R line

Did you happen to get any quotes for the SEL at all?

That's unfortunate. Their deal was the best I had seen.

Just confirmed an order on a 6+23 deal for a VW Tiguan 2.0TDi SE Nav, at £177.52 + VAT. With no fees. went for 5,000 miles a year as it's cheaper to do this and then up the mileage after the first year than paying for mileage upfront. Very please with the deal.
congrats!

This is the exact car I am looking to order on a personal lease. I am new to the leasing game - could you explain the mileage thing? I do circa 12k pa so was thinking of leasing at 10k pa and paying the excess mileage. Is there a more cost effective way to do this?
If the deal ends up going through VW finance then you’ll be around 8.4ppm for any excess mileage accrued, but best to check first with the leasing company. My Octavia Scout is on a 10K deal, but I reckon I’ll be doing around 12K per year over the next 2 years so I’m factoring in an additional £336 to cover the 4K excess miles. If you plumped for a 5K deal, and assuming the excess mileage cost is the same as my deal, then you’ll be charged an additional £1,176.00 at the end of the lease to cover the extra 14,000 miles. You just need to factor in the monthly payments against the agreed contract mileage then add the excess miles to see which one stacks up for you.

I spoke to someone there this morning who said that they were trying to get more allocation... To be honest I've been totally put off the S5 deals due to the extra £750 not included in the current pricing that will come with the VED changes.

VW allow you to re adjust mileage half way through agreement and you generally pay half what it would be if you payed the excess at the end of agreement

I'm not 100% sure you can use Google Maps via Android Auto whilst on the move. I'd need to check later (if she ever lets me near her new car).
You can - been using it all week in my new (leased) E200 Coupe and it's great. TBH, Android Auto is pretty good all round - at least in the Merc implementation. Google Play Music is slow to load library/playlists but apart from that all good. I wouldn't go back to a car without it now.

I make it an extra £440 in VED on a 24 month lease, are they bumping up the cost out of proportion with the increases?

Jumped on the Volvo XC60 T5 SE Nav auto deal (incl metallic) via Ray Chapman Volvo

Went for 9000 miles p.a. with winter pack added which worked out at £245 per month on 6+23 (c.£7100 over term)

Excess mileage 18ppm but hoping not to go over
Seems kike a great deal. Have you driven one? I want to do so before ordering but the earliest I can get into our local volvo dealer is Thursday. Still, might be snowing by then which would be entertaining!

Good news. Although I did mean in the Ateca specifically, as I thought i'd read something on a forum somewhere about the car blocking it to push people into buying the Tech pack/Nav pack.

I can't find the reference now, but i'm sure someone with the same system in a Leon would be able to confirm one way or the other.

The 18s are fine by the way. I know its subjective but we're both used to Meg Cup suspension arent we?
Yes and I am on rock solid semi-slicks on the Meg ! My fear on a lease car is the wife's propensity for kerb damage...

One would expect the OTR price of the car to already reflect the changes in first year registration, since they are only making about 2 months of cars before the change it would make sense to just make more money on the two months worth of cars than have a price hike so soon? And so the second year is all that there would be to talk about.

I know my car if it arrives in April will not go up in price, but it seems ridiculous to me they are quoting prices then saying it won't actually be that price. Nobody who orders one now will get one in March unless it's a cancelled order so what's the point in a pre April price?

I'm waiting on a Tiguan SE Nav which I ordered from Gateway2Lease. It was meant to arrive mid December but still no sign of it even thought for about the past month the VW tracker says it's in the UK and on its way to the dealer!

On a related note, if there are further delays (bearing in mind we ordered it at the end of September) is there any prospect of being compensated by G2L?
