The solid paint is the Mrs' favourite, so that's a winner, and yes definitely worth the £1300 extra. The XC60 is a 9 year old design

Indeed. The Tiguan is a car only recently launched whereas the XC60 is being replaced in March at the Geneva show.

that meets the 20% lease to RRP ratio.
It is quiet, but I wouldn't use the 20% as a hard and fast rule, more a guide. If a car you want is 21% is it a bad deal? Probably not.
I agree as it's based on price list. And those are not a good indicator as the level of discounts off them is variable from one brand to another. A better indicator would be lease as a proportion of transaction prices at max discount.

Christ, just shows how crap some dealers are and how good some are.

My dealer quoted me £408 on a 6+23 on the DSG version of yours.

Any chance of naming the good dealers?
Martin @ Breeze VW Bournemouth and Mike @ JCT600 Wakefield, both in fleet
In exactly the same position as yourself, wife thought she wanted an XC60 but after going round them and putting everything together, we went for the Tiguan SEL DSG (even though it's costing more). Yes, would have liked it cheaper but needed a car asap and Neil @ Breeze was very helpful.

I was just using 20% as the guide on what I consider a good deal, not what I was willing to pay. I have a budget (well, my wife does anyway), and a type of car she wants, and ultimately neither of the criteria are being met when 6 months ago we were probably spoilt for choice. Maybe getting a Golf R Estate for £6k over 2 years has ruined our sense of perspective.

No biggie, these deals will things come and go and the Civic deal posted earlier looks ok, but it won't meet the criteria as it's a diesel, and they are the work of the devil.

May I ask what deal you got? The SEL DSG is what we're after too...

PM sent. Don't ask me what it's like though, we haven't taken delivery yet!

My sister is moving on from a MK7 Golf R (DSG) to a Tiguan SEL TDi 150 (DSG) in Indium Grey Metallic on Sunday... will have a better idea what it's like to be in/drive after that but it seems a lot sharper/fresher than the other options she considered; Honda CRV and Volvo XC60.

IIRC her figures (give or take very slightly) look something like:

Deposit: £2800 inc VAT
Monthly: £280 inc VAT
Mileage: 10k p/a
Length : 2 years

...not sure whether that's as sharp a deal as we could have got. But from the brief scan of the interweb before ordering it seemed to be there or there abouts and we have the bonus of ordering/collecting through the dealer of our choice whose customer service is second to none.

Cheers,
Grant

No, these are cars registered to BMW GB. I'll dig them out tomorrow as they're on my work laptop. I heard they were changing company cars earlier as well to get more registrations. They HAD to be number 1 in their centenary year in as many markets as possible
A fella I work with has a car from BMW UK, his partner works for BMW customer relations, his car is normally changed after 9 months but his last one was changed after 6 months so what your saying does stack up

Hi Grant - and is this PCP or PCH? Either way - that's not a deposit, it's an initial payment.

A deposit can be an initial payment.

So after being messed around by a couple of brokers, the A3 Sportback 1.4tfsi Black Edition deal we were considering has gone. I haven't been able to get any dealers or brokers to get anywhere that deal. Except I have one dealer that is seemingly willing to nearly match the original deal.

Basically, its £6900 all in over two years, 8k miles. Standard car, non metallic.

I am convinced this is the best deal I can get on this car at the moment. But I am not convinced it's a good deal lease wise. RRP of the car is about £27,500

Pricey - does it have to be a A3 Sportback?

Thanks for sharing. Rare is it that Audi allow any strong deals to appear, it's just how they are.

If the numbers work for you, then go for it. Leasing is still attractive for reasons other than price when compared with PCP smile

As opposed to the three door do you mean?

Could live with the three door I guess. But liking the look of the overall A3 package. Seems like a really nice car especially in the S Line and above trim.

Also been looking at the Tiguan but would want SEL spec really which pushes the budget even further.

Well it's probably £1400 over the term more than the car we have at the moment, and ideally we didn't want to spend more this time. That's why I am hesitant.

Like most things quoted on Contracthireandleasing website, that deal does not exist on the lease company (in this case AVC) site. I have stopped using that website as a source as it is often out of date.
