If it's who I think it is there's probably another £250+VAT fee on top of that too, which doesn't seem to get mentioned on the website.

As Fast Bug mentioned, that car is available without fees when going direct to MB.

Quick question, I'm just in the process of signing my VWFS papers for a Tiguan. In one of the sections it states that I would be liable to pay the difference if road tax costs increase during the period of the contract.

I thought road tax was paid a year in advance? So does this mean I would only pay the difference in the second year? Also, roughly how much would it be?

It's all a bit confusing!
Standard clause I think as your hire agreement will be based on the current rate of VAT and vehicle tax rates so if either goes up then the leasing company will pass them on to you.

Exactly. My point being; why would you hesitate when we all know it's going up?

Makes sense
The std rate goes to £140 so second year will be an extra £30 (for a non DSG 2.0 TDi)

Ah ok - so basically all this means is that I'll have to pay an extra £30 for the 2nd year's tax?

I found the deal less appealing with +£750 on top, the deals at the time were being sent out without this extra cost hence the confusion I had... Looks like since the S5 build dates are getting pushed some may have to pay the +£750 despite ordering cars expected to arrive before the rise, must be very frustrating!

similar price to this main dealer with no fees

http://www.uchoosecontracts.co.uk/seat_leon_hatchb...

3+35 £280 inc vat

The 2yr deals aren't much more, so I'd go with that instead.

Isn't the £500 some kind of admin fee?

In the case of some cars the prices are for pre April delivery but won't be delivered until after the tax goes up, and it seems to be that some brokers are saying they will want the difference in tax and being hesitant (or unable) to say what the actual situation is.

Hoping my friends here at PH can help me...

Looking for a hot hatch to run as my daily to compliment my Evo at the weekend. I therefore don't care much for track performance and would rather have a lovely car to drive to and from work and for my day to day life. My main problem at the moment is finding any excuse to use the Evo instead of my current company car! So something that is lovely to sit in, lovely to drive and fast to boot would hopefully not have me grabbing the Evo keys at every opportunity!

So, what deals are about? Are there good ones to be had still? Would be about 8k miles a year.

As a side, those of you who like me are employed by car dealerships, do these lease deals typically beat employee discount?

Thanks!!

Yes, it's how some of the brokers earn their money. Some leasing companies allow brokers to upsell the rental and will pay the difference to the brokers directly. As a general rule of thumb going direct to a dealer will save you an admin fee, although not all dealers can supply cars via lease

Our staff deal is better than a lease deal, I don't think I'd take one though as if you leave you lose the car

Seat Ibiza Cupra is on special offer with Nationwide Vehicle Leasing, 3+23 @ £185, even cheaper on 3 or 4 year deals.

The spec on those things is cracking, and they are pretty fast to boot.

Don't know if this is of any use (or if it's accurate, I think it is).
