Has anyone spotted anything that might be suitable instead of an Audi S5? I ordered an S5 sportback as part of a deal that was available in November.... but based on comments from owners of the new shape 2017 S5 coupe the MPG in my opinion appears to be quite shocking. Dependent on who you listen to it could be anything from 15 to 22 MPG
350bhp 3.0 turbo midsize 4wd car in 'not great on fuel' shocker!A question about impending VED changes:
I have signed up to a Personal Lease that was to be to be delivered in March, the delivery date has now slipped to April. The monthly payment has to be altered to take account of the increased VED.
From Broker:
Original quote: 265.24 3+35 inc VAT
Revised Quote: 277.74 3+35 inc VAT
Difference: £475 total or £12.50 / month
Calculated VED increase:
CO2: 117g/km
Original VED: 0+30+30 (yr1+yr2+y3) = £60
Revised VED: 160+140+140 (yr1+yr2+y3) = £440
Diference: £380 or £10 / month.
Is the broker attempting to fleece me of £95, or have i miscalculated?
Edit: grammar

Evening all, I've been sent here by another (unrelated) forum I post on.
I'm coming out of a company car due to changing jobs and want something like the Honda HRV or Mazda CX-5, really not bothered by brand as long as it's well equipped, decent looking, good value, and ideally not a Qashqai as they're everywhere.
Limit is around £300, but if it's value for money (i.e. a luxury make) then I'd consider slightly over.
Hope you can help, thanks.

That's more or less the area of the market I have been looking at and pretty much every medium crossover is available for less than £300 a month. Plenty for less than £250 a month amortised, and occasionally under £200 (although if spec is important you probably won't get the super-cheap deals). If you read back over the last few pages you will see a few deals posted on Tiguans and Volvo XC60s. I have also seen good deals on Kadjars, Atecas and CR-Vs.
People often mention Contract Hire and Leasing as a website - there are lots of deals on there but it isn't very easy to search through them. What Car have a leasing site too which is worth looking at. I also use Nationwide Vehicle Contracts' website because I find it the easiest to search - they don't always have the best deals but it gives a hint at what deals might be around.

Considering trying to transfer my lease deal on my Golf R estate through VWFS. It's a £1500 initial rental with £215pm for 10k per annum and I am 5 months into the deal.
I was about to sort out a lease on a Golf R Estate this week - and now just seen this! Very interested - if you think VWFS will allow you to novate the lease.
I can't PM you though - as I've only just created an account (24hrs thing).
What's your excess mileage rate / threshold?
Hi guys,
I'm new to leasing so am looking for some thoughts on a deal I've found on a BMW 2 Series Coupe.
BMW 2 Series 220d Coupe M-Sport Auto
3+35
£381.98 pm (inc VAT)
Initial £1,145.95
Admin fee £180
30,000 miles p/a
It looks like a good deal to me for the mileage on a car and spec I'm after.
What do the leasing gurus on here think?

Assuming an 8p/mile excess, that would work out around £6600 over two years, or 21% of the list price.
Good deal I'd say.

Skoda Kodiaq would fit your bill, well equipped, decent looking and good value. You don't mention miles you do and what upfront you want but this is a little different than the usual TDi stuff and is the top spec model.I'm coming out of a company car due to changing jobs and want something like the Honda HRV or Mazda CX-5, really not bothered by brand as long as it's well equipped, decent looking, good value, and ideally not a Qashqai as they're everywhere.

Only reservations I would have is the 3 year term. This means 30k mileage out of warranty, and in that mileage you are probably looking at 4/5 sets of rear tyre, 2/3 of fronts and 4 services. A maintenance pack might add quite a lot onto the monthlies but could still be worth it?
Has anyone seen a good, personal deal on a small 4x4/ crossover?
Must be petrol with a smallish engine and has to be automatic. Does not need to actually have 4wd, of course - will be for the school run etc.
I am trying to give my parents a different option, other than buying outright, just to show them what they could have and add maintenance etc.
Their car was written off when a guy fell asleep at the wheel and drove into it (thankfully parked in an on-road bay with no one in it and an off duty cop watching).
Alternatively, something that has a 'premium' type feel so my 13yr old sister isn't embarrassed at school with 5-doors (like a Polo/ Golf) with a small engine could work.
A stock car available for fairly immediate delivery would be good, if they wanted to go this route.
Budget-wise; I had a look last night and it seems that <£1,000 down and maybe £150 a month gets you 'something' but I was struggling to find autos without a large premium. My Stepmother is cheeeeeeeeeeap, so as 'good' a deal as possible with as little down and as little a month will make it attractive.
To give an idea, something with an all-in cost of £4k over 3yrs would be good - but may not be achievable.
