There are always deals on Nissan Juke (in stock), try Westway Nissan website and look at the leasing offers. I doubt you'll get £4k over 2 years even, but something close.

Needing an auto in any car of that size is normally a bit painful on the monthly payments however.

£4k all in for 3 years? That's never going to happen.
Sorry; I perhaps didn't explain that clearly enough.

She was talking about buying a £4k car outright and being willing to "throw it away" (if needs be/ needed a lot of maintenance) after 3 years.

So, I was trying to demonstrate how they think (no, I don't understand either) and help you guys see that cheaper is better, in this case, sadly and they seem to have 'lease' thinking.

Something like £1k down and £150 a month (~£6,500) would be a good place for me to argue from.

Budget-wise; I had a look last night and it seems that <£1,000 down and maybe £150 a month gets you 'something' but I was struggling to find autos without a large premium. My Stepmother is cheeeeeeeeeeap, so as 'good' a deal as possible with as little down and as little a month will make it attractive.
On that budget you're looking at the usual Fiesta, Corse, ForFour, Micra, Jazz, Polo, 500.

That's a good shout. Although this is manual - could ask for a quote on an auto:

Definitely the sort of budget I think I could get them interested in; £3,810 over 2yrs but they get to keep most of their £4k in the bank.

Has anyone come across any deals on Audi S1, ideally 3+23 or 3+35 10,000 miles per annum, I don't need it until May

Make sure they understand that they have no equity in the car after the lease ends.
Some people, like your parents, unfamiliar with PCH misunderstand the term 'deposit'

To give an idea, something with an all-in cost of £4k over 3yrs would be good - but may not be achievable.
I'll probably be proved wrong, but a premium auto crossover is just not going to cost £4k over three years.

The cheapest Yeti DSG on the Trader, a 2010 model, is £7k. If you sold it for £4k when it's nine years old, and spent £1k on tax and repairs in the meantime, you'd be doing very well. Your budget is £90 on a 6+35.

Fleetprices.co.uk has a SEAT Ateca 1.4 SE DSG for £221 on a 9+35.

You can get a Polo 1.2 TSi Match DSG for £147, also on a 9+35 (£6468 all in).

Thanks all - there seem to be some options.

We don't need to hit any sort of budget, specifically, but they're all about the cheapness!

They understand the deposit and effectively renting the car (Dad did it many years ago) but hadn't really considered it for some reason. It has been bangernomics there for the last few years, which I was keen for them to continue (I do starter motors and things for them) but the kids are at an age where they are putting pressure on for something a bit nicer. I don't agree with that but then I am 24 and 30yrs older than them, respectively!

I'll be going to see them to talk it all through at some point and can show them some options.

I was looking at Yetis (outright and lease) last night and I did wonder how hard (or otherwise) it would be to convince them of the depreciation argument/ bottom of the curve. What I don't know is how much free cash they have as they are halfway through a house extension at the moment.

This issue has rather snuck up on them with one MOT failure car on the drive (not worth fixing/ chasing electrical problems on a Vel Satis - gulp) and the other car being written off.

I think a 5-door DSG Polo may be interesting...

I briefly looked at S1s a few months ago and didn't think they represented value for money compared to the S3, Golf R etc, but things can change quickly in this game

Haha that's incredible!

a mere £20k over the term, a whopping 57% of OTR! Just goes to show the brazen nature of some of the general deals, and that some of the great unwashed will actually go for it!

ETA, unless it is for 50k+ mileage per annum, with maintenance included...

My FB page is full of these rubbish deals. Then reading peoples comments shows how ill-informed many people are.
I once posted a link to CH&L, which was deleted. Ha!

But it is only £359 per month which when combined with being white and being an SUVoupe gives maximum bragging rights to your equally retarded friends!

Like many a folk on this forum, I got a BMW 125d M Sport almost 2 years ago.
Haven't seen the 'right' deal yet to fist the kumquat, and a little bit worried I may have left it too late.

Anyways, spoke to Arval yesterday who are the provider.
I currently pay ~£240 per month.
If I continue with the lease on the same 10k mileage per annum:
On a monthly basis, price would be ~£260 per month.
If I tie myself in for a further 12 months, price would be ~£220 per month.

I'm considering continuing a month at a time until the right deal pops up.

Hope this helps somebody in a similar situation.

Shame the Yeti Monte Carlo deals have finished, as these were autos (DSG) and were £159 deposit and £159 per month for two years (managed to negotiate this to £145 per month). My Dad agreed one on a three year deal on a fractionally higher monthly in the end.

I've the same car.
Out of interest is your lease a 1+23? That may account for the lease remaining roughly the same. ie. an effective rise, considering it's now a 2yr old car rather than new, quite likely requiring tyres/servicing. I'm not say it's a bad deal, in fact it looks OK to me, but just trying to reconcile it against other lease extension prices I've seen.
