OT
But just seen this on Drive the Deal, seems cheap
Would have thought that it would work out at less than £6k over 2 years (for tiny bit more hassle than lease)

I treat lease cars as my own...
I found that I did too for the first year, and by the 2nd realised it really doesn't matter if your paint has light scratches or swirl marks... Better than spending hours detailing it very carefully (unless you enjoy doing that of course).Bit annoyed.
Was all due to get the Ioniq Mid March...
Got an E-mail today saying they have none (even though they apparently checked end of last week that they had stock) and I'd be looking at April/May !!!
I found a car at a dealership in the spec I want though. But it's £249 a month and £249 down instead of £229. Meh.
I am half tempted to go tomorrow or scrap the whole idea and get a Fiesta ST-Line 140 Nav. Just want it sorted before the bloody tax changes.

Yeah I'm not over the top with it, but whilst the car is in my care, I treat it as mine.Haven't got the car yet, it's a GTD that I'm looking at ordering via Freedom...who admittedly are becoming hard work and making me nervous
The fixed servicing is £164 for the first then £324 for the second service. If I only need one, there's no point having maintenance - if I need two...

I think just once at the end of the second year, it should be already programmed into the cars service schedule. It will probably schedule the service for the same day that the car is due to go back.damianmkv said:
Brilliant, thanks.
Heres hoping Freedom pull their finger out tomorrow
I have a GTD which is coming to the end of it's 3 years in June. It was serviced for the first two years on schedule (i.e. every 12 months) but now I am doing a lot more miles it has come up for a service 4 months before it's 3rd birthday... something to be aware of, the variable servicing stuff...Heres hoping Freedom pull their finger out tomorrow

It will probably come on long life service or ask for it before collection. Then you will have only 1 service.
All VWs come to the dealer set for long-life servicing - they're supposed to be changed at PDI to fixed interval for retail customers. If it's leased it should be left on long-life - make sure the service indicator shows something like 600+ days to service.Sheepshanks said:

Our VW dealer puts it on fixed 12 months for cars contracted at under 10k but leaves it on LL for more than 10k. No idea what they do for 10k !gorman said:
Thanks for your help.
Yes that was the one on CH&L that I found to be the cheapest.
The BMW is out as I had a 3 series previously which my wife hated.
The diesel A4 may be an option but I would rather stick to petrol give the mileage we do.
As good as the Golf has been, I would prefer to get something different. We also need more room than the Golf offers.
I'll keep on the look out. There seems very little in the way of good value deals recently.
The deal from Central in Nov last year was £3600 + 23 x £329.99 giving a total cost over the term of £11200. I missed that one but gave Lee Moreland at Select Car Leasing the challenge of seeing how close he could get. He got me a deal that worked out as £12800 total cost, including £1200 of options on the car, which of course went straight onto the lease cost. I was happy with this deal & got the car last week. So, if you do specifically want an S4, contact some brokers (I highly recommend Lee Moreland at Select) and see what they can manage through their network of Audi dealers - someone may be up for a deal.

That sounds about right - the Mrs's leased Golf is on fixed 12 month servicing (10k miles a year contract), my Leon (15k miles a year contract) is on the long life version - service indicator shows it wants a service in a couple of thousand miles, by which time it will have done 18k, and be about 15 months old. Alfa Romeo 4C 3+23 8k per annum £499 inc vat !!!!!!!!!!!!

The S5 still seems good value at around £440 with a few options thrown in. I need to have a look at the boot space though and convince the wife.
Am I correct in saying the lead time on the S5 is around 14 weeks?
