Sounds the same as the PCP deal that's been floating around which had been posted here several times recently. 199 deposit and 199 a month. Big balloon, but fk the balloon right?
Apologies but what page number have these been posted on here? The closest price to £199/month I can get is for the Acenta which is the lower spec model and that's not including, insurance, gap insurance, servicing etc.

A 1.0 in a car the size of ateca (it's much bigger than it looks in pictures) just screams nightmare to me.
Not sure why if it's got a turbo and respectable mid-range torque ?

A Formula 1 only has a 2.4L. ;-)

(Cough)1.6 (cough)

Bet they don't do a 10k 2 year lease deal though, even on a 12+23

LOL, good point. I think you see my point about comparing NA vs turbo.

Thought I'd share this with everyone. Just some food for thought regarding mileages and such.

I leased a Superb in December 2015. Contract mileage 16,000 and excess mileage 7.2ppm. Like many people I worked out that it was cheaper to go for this and pay the excess, instead of saying upfront that I would in fact do 40,000. Here's how it has all worked out.

I would've paid £1720 in excess mileage charges if I stuck to my original plan. However, I phoned VWFS and asked them to increase the mileage to 40,000 over my final 8 months. The result? I pay £820 now instead of £1720. What's more stark is that if I'd have plumped for 40,000 initially on my contract, when first leasing, the difference would be £2392 versus what I'm now paying.

Just putting these numbers out there for some consideration.

Interesting.

So if i have got this right you are saying it may be far cheaper to up the milage mid contract, than paying the excess, which in turn is cheaper than buying the miles from the outset?

I take it thats £820 extra now, and your agreed monthly stays the same?

I wonder how that works? Good info though.

An extra £98 per month for the final 8 months. So, excess miles would've been cheaper than getting the 40k for the outset, but even cheaper (by £820) is upping it mid contract as I've done.

To clarify, it works by simply signing a new agreement (by e-mail) and then the direct debit changes in April to £298 from £197.

VWFS have always done this when it comes to mid-term mileage changes - a reminder is always useful though. I believe the change can only be done between the last 12 to 6 months. It also works for both increasing and decreasing mileage allowance and typically works out about 50% cheaper. Although there is a £60 admin fee to change the mileage allowance.

The above is certainly true for those who took out PCH contracts before VWFS introduced their tiered pricing for excess mileage charges (dependant on engine size). I suspect they'll carry on despite the change in excess mileage charges.

Cheers.

Cheapest reported on here was £161 on a 1+23 term for a 30kw (probably 5k or 6k pa though).

Apparently the dealer is getting back to the op re: 'free' insurance, servicing etc. The dealer is trying to include this Nissan offer: http://www.wessexgarages.com/nissan/offers/nissan-...

Guess we'll await confirmation on that.

Dave Wright of Harratts seems to be the name mentioned on hukd who's offering the deal. Still think it's too good to be true - charge point is about £500 to install now, insurance is about £500, gap and smart repair insurance about £100, servicing £100 and a reasonable 8k pa mileage allowance.

I extended my Golf R lease in the final month of the lease for a further 6 months and increased the mileage from 10k overall to 40k overall. When everything is taken into account like not paying the excess mileage etc I ended up getting the extended 6 months virtually for free.

Problem is you can't really count on this as that policy could change at any point.

If you get a good offer it's as well to grab it - there was someone complaining the other day that VW wouldn't honour an extension quote that was a few weeks old.

Hey Guys,

Looking into getting a new car as just paid off my Fiesta ST.

First time i've looked into contract hire as an option (i'm not too bothered about owning the vehicle outright)

Has anyone had any experience with leasing companies like:

Fultons
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts

Or any other alternatives? not sure how many of them are legit.

Do people typically go for a lower mileage and pay the excess at the end? pretty new to all this.

Thanks

all comes down to what they charge as a excess per mile
