Apologies, yes it is by no means cheap, however, leasing is only going one way as far as I can determine.

3 years ago I had an A6 on similar terms to above for £325 a month and a close friend had a CLS for £330, those days are long gone!
There was a point last year I was knocking the CLS out for £275 a month!

Be interested to read the terms on "excessive" tyre wear and what they judge as "reasonable use".
Usually states 'fair wear and tear' for tyres, Arval stated to me that if you did a pair of tyres in 5000 miles they'd replace them. If you did another pair in another 5000 miles you're on your own

So that's another 6/800 quid of cost per set probably.
That's very expensive for a set of tyres.

You can get a set of 4 x Goodyear Eagle F1s or Conti SportContacts for around £360 fitted the last time I checked for a Golf R.

£360? wow that's cheap

Eagle F1s assym 2 are £138ea mobile fitted at Event tyres, who are one of cheapest around.

Even so, OPs guess is high, £450-500 would bag a top end set of tyres fitted.

If it's going back soon then put some of these beauties on https://www.event-tyres.co.uk/results/225-40-18/ST...

Hi Guys

Bit of a lurker here but thought i would try and get involved. I know most are looking for Sporty type premium cars but in need of a new car fast.

Looking for a decent all round spec for driver comfort that is big enough for a family.

The new Peugeot (Don't laugh) 3008 GT Line has caught my eye as I just like to be different and there is not many around, good spec and an interior i just love. However i'm not clued up on deals and working out true cost etc.

I have found: Is this a half decent deal?

Peugeot 3008 2.0 diesel GT line
24 months
8000 miles
initial payment of 3 x £297.54 = £892.62
Admin = £198
23 x £297.54
OTR = £28500

Any advise appreciated
Slightly cheaper here for 10k miles:

http://www.fleetprices.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/p...

28% of OTR price, not bad nothing special.

Don't want to turn this into a tyre thread (so last comment form me), but I've just found the Eagle F1s for a bit cheaper!

4 x tyres for £329 fully fitted (225/40/18).

https://www.cartyres.com/

Bargain if you ask me.

I'd presumed the R is on 19s or 20s tbh.

18" is standard factory option. 19" are factory options (close to £1k if memory serves me right)

In the current climate that seems to be a decent deal. See the deal below which works out slightly cheaper as there are no admins to pay....

Looking at getting the missus a car but unfortunately a large percentage of the deals recently have been pretty rubbish. Came across the following for a Mini Cooper 1.5 3DR (Chili Pack):

Term - 3 years
Monthly - £170
Deposit - £1000
Mileage - 10k
Admins - Nil

Thoughts? I have always been keen on sticking to 2 year leases but unfortunately the fees go up at a ridiculous rate when the term is reduced on this deal.

Thanks!

Reasonable prices those. Works out at about £299 amortised for the tdi dsg over the term. still a bit pricey compared to a few months back though.

I have had a quote through a broker for a golf R on following profiles. I am sure he wont mind me posting.

3 Door Metallic Paint/15k per year/6+23 - £2,586.38 Up Front - £431.06 Per Month - Includes Full Maintenance and Tyre's.

3 Door Metallic Paint/15k per year/6+35 - £2,220.26 Up Front - £370.04 Per Month - Includes Full Maintenance and Tyre's.
Is it worth paying through the nose for a high mileage lease when excess miles are usually the cheaper option, especially when the best deals are available for the low mileage leases?

If you took the often bargain 5k per year deals, at VWFS excess rate of 6p/mile that would only cost you £50/m to do 10,000 extra per year but if you pre-pay for miles I bet it goes up much more than £50/m for the same 10K extra per year.

And if you do less miles than you've paid for you don't get any money back!
This is the route I took: Passat on 5,000 miles for £172 inc Vat a month, I am probably going to hit 20,000 miles this year - the extra 15k will cost me £1080 - which works out £90 a month - bringing my total monthly to £262.
To get the Passat on 20k deal was over £400pm!
