That's probably the old one - doesn't say 310 (bhp)hornetrider said:

Unfortunately I found the DSG box on the VW Battleship to be woeful. It seemingly made sure that you never had any torque available with its awkward gear changes in both Sport and Normal modes... admittedly I only used it for a day as a loaner.
I concur. See my detailed comments in the Alltrack lease thread in the VW forum. I basically use the car in manual mode now, and even that's the wrong way round. Its a shame because otherwise it's really a great car with lots of nice detail touches and rather surprisingly good handling when pushed.

I just treat mine like an old school barge and slush about in 'E' I find that suits the character of the car. That said it can be a PITA off the line when the stop/start, traction control and DSG start arguing but once it's on the move the shifts are quick and smooth.

Are good lease deals likely to pick up/be a bit more varied with the new plate coming out?
I'm weighing up whether to settle for the cheap Astra Elite deal or something I actually want to drive...
Only on pre reg cars maybe. Newer models will be more expensive with the new tax.I'm weighing up whether to settle for the cheap Astra Elite deal or something I actually want to drive...

Better be quick. If your car isn't registered before 1 April your monthlies will increase by around £20 per month. I'm weighing up whether to settle for the cheap Astra Elite deal or something I actually want to drive...
The Astra isn't the most exciting car but will do the job as our second car. If it's your main car and you're not keen on it, get something you're genuinely keen about otherwise it's 2 years of potentially painful motoring.
I imagine with Brexit prices will generally be on the upward trend. You might get the odd deal due to overstock, but Brexit will be bad for the UK motor industry. No two ways about it. It's a self inflicted wound we deserve as a nation.
Looking for a cheap, non offensive, white goods box for driving...
ideally low initial rental as possible, 15k PA miles & a decent spec mid sized hatch really.
I'm guessing thats limiting me to something from Ford/Vauxhall/etc but that's fine - I just want something as cheap as hell ideally on a 3 year lease that I can service once & give back at the end of it.
The Astra deal looked good a couple of pages back but the initals seemed a bit much for my intended use/budget.
Anyone seen anything super cheap?

The c class estate is just a premium plus pack short of what I want at a good price. H6Nathan said:
I believe ad blue equipped cars drive quite differently to non ad blue cars. Mine is a 2.0tdi 150 without the Urea tank. Also, the DSG box is probably calibrated differently for 4WD.

You might actually be right, I think it may have had an adblue tank. I think it was a 150 R-Line Bluemotion. I can't complain about the comfort, the gearbox was just awful to drive around town with. Sorry if I missed this, but which model are you talking about? Missus has an 18mth old Tiguan 150 4Motion DSG (with AdBlue) - I drive it quite a bit and the DSG works absolutely fine. Comparison point is the well-regarded 5 speed slush-box in my older Merc.Sheepshanks said:
