Think contract cars was around the £299 figure, not sure if it was inc VAT.

I can't imagine that being including VAT?.. Couldn't see anything for under 300.

Thanks, I'm sure I will enjoy it and soon forget about this thread (hopefully). As it's stock orders only now it's spirit blue or shadow black. I'm leaning towards the black, looks a bit smarter and meaner imo.

I've driven my better halfs 140 Zetec S and that's a lot of fun, so the extra power with a few nice extras should make the ST3 a good place to be, for what is currently not much money.

I'd still take an old Golf R now if the prices were right though, but they aren't and I could be waiting forever instead of blasting around in the fiesta.

That's quite a large premium for the Sport Line, ~£50 more than the Technology. Be sure you want all those options @ +£1300 over the 2yrs.

FYI, smaller car, but the Octavia vrs is good deal right now (few pages back)

I'm not sure spending two and a half grand a year to save 700 quid on an MOT is, strictly speaking, saving money but that's a whole other discussion lol

evo magazine says the Polo GTi is nowhere near as fun a steer as the Fiesta, seemingly inert and just more tied down all the time, so I think it's horses for courses - the badge will no doubt sell a lot of them!

We have a Polo GTI and its awesome. Fiesta was slightly better to drive but felt slower and was a terrible place to sit - the interior was awful.
Whats most fun in the twisties isnt really relevant in the majority of day to day driving (just my opinion of course!)

I had posted earlier about going for a GTD with 8000 miles, but today I learned there is a possibilty I will be now working from a different office which is a good 30 miles further away making my commute jump from 27 miles a day to 82 or so. I am taking delivery of the car next Friday.

That being said because I am not yet 100% sure about it happening, does anyone know how easy it is to phone Arval/VWFS and get them to extend the mileage on a contract? My excess is 8.2ppm though I feel like putting in an excess of 10k miles is a bit crazy.

I seen quite a few pages back that some people managed and others found that the price was ridiculous. Is it usually worth paying excess then?

Adding extra miles during contract with WVFS is cheap. Don't know about Arval. Better wait until you start your work away and you're sure you will be doing extra miles. If you pre-pay miles, you may not be able to get back any money.
