The citroen for £100 less per month and 9 seats ( is 9 allowed)
Citroen = 115bhp, Peugeot = 180bhp

Citroen is basically minicab spec, while Pug has all the toys.

You can get the same engine in the Citroen for £228 on a 3+17:

Why is 9 seats worse than 8? Not arguing, just interested. As far as I am aware its still a car (class M1) with 9 seats (inc driver) 10 seats (inc driver) that makes it a bus (class M2).

The 9th seat is an option. Standard is 8 seats.

Not really. I went to VW when I had my R and asked the same question 9 months before the lease was up, 2 months before and a few weeks before (when i cancelled the second R that was at the dealer ready to collect) and each time the quoted price for extending by 12 months was different. Weirdly the 2 month before quote was the cheapest not the last one i got. I was also sent a letter offering a buy price for the car.
I think the result i got shows there is no harm in asking early. Very happy to keep the Polo GTI for another year at 134 a month and the wife really likes the car.Ill be honest i like driving it as well - fills a bit of the void left by the R.
If they had given a high price I would of looked elsewhere. A question I was asking when looking around is what is the latest possible date i can take delivery if i place an order. CVL who have the R's and GTI's on an 'offer' at the moment can deliver as late as end of Sept. Select can often do end of the current year.
I did the same and also got different renewal quotes each time. As the contracts they sent me each time didn't have an expiry date on them, once I got to the end of the lease I just signed the cheapest one and sent it back.

How does a bus with only 115bhp even move with 9 people and their stuff in it??

An unusual deal from National Vehicle solutions - seems a trifle expensive to me

Octavia 2.0 TDi VRS Estate
10 k miles 2 year contract
Total cost £27,653.66 inc VAT for the term or 105% of list price.

May find it cheaper elsewhere...

That doesn't seem like a great deal.

It's around £1000 per year more than I'm paying for my estate with half the mileage allowance.

Yes, but it's not that bad when you consider it's taking into account the new VED rates.

As an aside, I've ordered a FL R Estate for the same price as that manual hatch.

Simpsons skoda
Freedom contracts
21st century motors

None of which are cheaper but I'm hoping they will be up for a bit of competition as they're all close

Fair enough, I hadn't considered the VED changes.

I make vehiclesavers cheapest so far, by about 4quid per month for me. depends what their excess mileage cost is though. They are also expensive for admin fee; £360!!
