Christ chap - no need to take forums so seriously it's the bloody internet. Lighten up
Ironic given the contributions you make (or don't).

O/P glad you got it sorted, in the middle of purchasing just now and between the different deals, offers and sales techniques its so much more challenging that it used to be.

The constructive feedback is to set a budget and stick to it - I am guilty of budget creep myself and going through a similar process. Keep an eye on threads on here and you might pick up what you want, for a much better deal!

That's a result, I'm sure they will.

I would suggest also writing an E-mail to the salesman if you have their E-mail address, just confirming this.
Then if not heard back by say, 3pm, call them again.
Sorry forgot to add, straight after the phone call I sent an email directly to the salesman. I will also be sending it in writing via recorded delivery, just trying to make sure I can cover all angles.
funny you remember all these things but not how much you earn....

Only if you make a habit of it, like you do.

Agree with other comments - deposit is designed to show you are serious about purchasing the car so they remove it from sale.

You should lose your deposit especially as you decided to do your affordability checks AFTER agreeing on a car and payments.

Have you called them yet?
I have called them at 9:15am and advised the same sales guy that Im not going ahead with the sale as £700 is not affordable. I also reminded him the vehicle was not ordered or modified for me, it was a used vehicle and therefore I am requested my full deposit back. He said nothing will be deducted from my deposit and he needs to speak to his manager and will call me back. So far no call back.
Yes, yes, you told us that at 12.11.

Why are you repeating yourself?

As you go through life, my son, you will find that generally speaking, in law, people can't force you to do things.

What they can do is to take you to court and get financial compensation for the loss that they have suffered.
Everyone seems to assume Dani is a bloke. Last time I checked, Danni Minogue was a woman.

Interesting to see these figures, I am not into leasing and when you see eye watering numbers like that I wonder why anyone would sign up for this sort of costs?
This isn't a lease.

The sales guy never called me back, I called him myself. He started making more offers on other vehicles. I said no thank you, I don't wish to consider buying a car. They have booked me in for tomorrow to come and get a full refund. Will update you guys tomorrow.

You made a massive mistake not having a set budget walking into the showroom. Salesman love people like that.

Well-done on realising your mistake and have the balls to go and do the smart thing.

Salesmen always love telling you the deposit is refundable. So hopefully it will be !

Now go and lease a Skoda Kodiak. (7seater if that's your thing) For half the cost.

Phone him back and ask for a refund over the phone; just give him your card details, there is no need for you to attend in person.

Flat refuse anything they offer, don't be tempted to be swayed and don't enter into a discussion.

Before you go, visit one of the contract hire site listed above to get an idea of what you can get for a more modest budget.

Do this OP.

They'll give you the hard sell and sign you up to something else otherwise!
