Please can someone recommend a film protection "type and spec" and a trusted Mclaren familiar installer (ideally in yorkshire) ?

I've never had this done on a car before

Oh and target cost !

Many thanks

Hi Simon,
I've both used and worked with PPF for nearly 10 years during which I've protected every McLaren road variant from F1 to the MSO HS, including P1 GTR's and a few other oddities.
Feel free to drop me a line and I can give you plenty of information to assist your research.

I have the same question.

I see a lot of YouTubers use Topaz in London, but I would primarily want the bonnet and guards for stone chips. I can't recall any car I've owned that got chips on other parts of the car.

I spoke to Glyn (Elite detailing) about this the other day as I want my Gallardo doing. Says there is a guy in Doncaster that started doing it about a year ago. He was meant to text back to see if he could do it as he wasn't sure the guy had perfected it yet. I'll let you know if I hear back from him.

Take the car to Paintshield in Peterborough - they have been doing this for years and have the magic 'self healing' film which is simply amazing, and is glossy finish and ultra thin so you simply can't see it's applied. Great stuff. Had it on the front of my TVR Sagaris and I'm impressed with the film and the company.

I've just dropped my 12C off with McLaren Ascot and they are applying SunTek paint protection film to the nose, a-pillars, side skirts and rear wheel arches. Apparently McLaren Ascot use SunTek for all their cars now.

I believe Ascot use Topaz. My car is being done next week.

Yes, I was told that too but to quote McLaren Ascot's email to me: 'We are going to use a company who are based just behind us here in Ascot called Auto ProteK. We tend to have most of our new cars that require the film [SunTek] fitted there as logistically is a lot easier than customers having to pay for a truck on top of the fitting of the film at Topaz and their work has always been good.'

I'll try and post a few pics of their work.

Separately, I'm having Race by Design fit their Xpel paint protection film to my Lotus 3-Eleven. I've used Race by Design many times before since I'm extremely happy with their work and customer service.

What sort of price are people paying for this? I would like to get the 540 done before I start breaking the engine in on the slightly rough roads of Scotland.

Had my 650S fitted by Steve at Invisifilm in Cheshire, very good service & price.
Steve was more than happy to travel to the North East but schedules allowed for him to install before I picked the car up from McL Manchester.
Supply and Install Full Extended Paint Protection Kit plus Full Options £1800

I second this. Great service, and one of the oldest players in the game I think.

Never you mind
