Sunday saw the departure of my beloved 1991 v-spec Eunos Roadster, and since I never get around to starting a thread for it, here are some photos:

The Eunos had been brilliant in the 12 months I'd had it, but with the rust on the sills and arches getting steadily worse I thought now was a sensible time to sell up, as I could still recoup almost all of my initial outlay and the new owner could still have a good chance of getting it back to its original glory.

Anyway, this thread isn't about that car...

After Julian had travelled up to Nottingham from London, paid me some money, and driven away with my baby, I was left in the rather bizarre position of being extremely car-less and having absolutely no idea what car one replaces an mx5 with... After the reaction from my friends, it would appear the answer is not a Nissan Micra! I beg to differ! I wanted something cheap, reliable, not too far away and quirky. My plan was to find something that meets these requirements that I could keep as a second car when I finally decide what 'proper' car I want next.

I spotted the car on Gumtree only a few minutes from work on Monday lunchtime, and before tea time I had paid a small amount of cash and driven home in it. The car was dirty, had numerous scratches and dings, absolutely stunk of cigarettes and also seemed to have a slightly high clutch. But despite this, after getting home in one piece, I was absolutely chuffed.

Stay tuned for more smile

Theres something liberating about not having to worry about where you park a car. Or worrying about scratches. Or Dings. Or washing it. Or even servicing it.

Enjoy!

The blue cockroach is looking a bit cleaner!

Ordered some parts to give it a service - despite having never touched a car mechanically speaking before. So looking forward to that! Just need to borrow some axle stands...

Great stuff - speaking somehwat with a bias as an owner, they are fantastic to own, cheap for parts wonderfully easy to maintain yourself.

Do check the sills and front crossmember to ensure the car is structurally sound before spending too much, and the Micra Sports Club forum is very helpful, alongside YouTube, if the Haynes manual seems opaque.
