Best regards

Driving a few metres in reverse seemed to cure mine.

Is that why there are so many low mileage Chimaeras?

Mine stuck on 99999 on the hottest day of the year 2016....and the ice sensor came on permanently at the same time, just for a laugh (or to prove it is a cool car).
I haven't freed it off yet, but have only done about 500 miles since then, as the car is having a rebuild.
I will be driving fast backwards when i get the car back on the road.

PS, it also stuck on 69999, 79999 and 89999, though not for very long on any of them.
Just as i was getting used to it each time, it started again for no discernible reason.

More than likely, mine lost about 10k miles when the previous owner replaced a broken clock according to the paperwork silly

Helpful for limited mileage insurance policy !

Not so good for service intervals.

Mine stock at 99999, but I got David Batty to fix it

LOL - very handy!

I use mine as a fuel gauge as well. 200 miles = find a petrol station. More accurate than the gauge which seems to plummet after 1/2 tank has gone.

It's going great thanks Peter. It's going in for a Major service plus the things that should be in a major service, in my opinion, I have a feeeling it's going to make Dan seem a bargain! Still I have a lovely loan cars provided and a couple of days driving planned!

Hanging the car on the garage wall is such a good idea - makes space for bikes, lawnmowers etc

On balance I reckon driving backwards, shaking it, turning it upside down, shouting at it, etc. can only ever be a temporary fix - if at all.

So it's out, on its way to be fixed, with a temporary clock in place to stay legal, courtesy of my specialist. Hurrah!

FYI, 20 mins complete job, including dash lid off and back on again. Piece of cake. But not by me... smile
