Depending on mileage, I would really consider petrol. My brother in law sold his z4si and bought a 320d for economy reasons.

I calculated that over the course of 20k miles (assuming 30mpg and 50mpg respectively), he would only save approximately £1200 per year. I would pay the extra and enjoy the petrol!
That’s a decent Saving though. Some times mortgages need paying.
Yep, but he spent over £2k on the swap. And then bought an s1000rr.

This just neatly shows all that is important to a petrol head. And it is not the diesel haha, what a lovely sounding thing.

Dunno if £9k is enough really. It should be, but ive been browsing 330d's for ages and they all seem to be really high miles and >10 years old for that money. Also, alot of SE 330d's around as opposed to M-sports. Why anyone would spec the 3 litre diesel and skimp on the trim level is beyond me.

Used car market is very poor for cars like this imo.

Get the A5! I did and I love mine. I always wanted a 335D too, but the interior really put me off. It really is awful to look at.
I love the facelift B8 A5's interior though. I have the flat bottom steering wheel on mine too which adds to the interior aesthetics.
It really is a lovely place to be. I drove 4,000 miles across Europe in it in 7 days this year, and it was so comfy and refined. Perfect for the job.
It's only downside for me is the steering, it really is devoid of feel. But the car still handles very well, and once you get used to the steering, you don't notice it.
Definitely opt for an S Line, as they look a little drab in lower trims imo.

The 355 just sounds wonderful ! I would never, ever tire of that noise.
But with only a small bhp advantage and being down about 200 lb/ft over the BMW it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

But it doesn't matter, it's a glorious v8 Ferrari.
Fun > torque, enjoyment > speed.
