Mis sold used car. Advice please.
Discussion

I have bought this car on finance, today.
I have been searching for one of these cars for a while now and this came up in my local area, and was a v.good price and now I know why...
The car came with 2 keys/actually in the ad it does say start/stop which i didn't actually notice.
it needs the key to start, but that didn't bother me.
Keyless actually got on my nerves as i always mis place they key in the other.
I was driving a '16 e220 for several weeks, which is newer shape than this, but i still like this and need something for heavy motor way mileage.
i had the 2016 e220 through my sixt business account as my personal lease (5 series) has gone over mileage, and was spending to much on sixt so thought it best to get another car that i could do unlimited mileage on.
And didn't want 2 of the same car on my drive.
Full service history, Yes I was told----- but no service book given???
It was something i asked as i went in to the office and they said yes it has main dealer history stamped (when they gave me the documentation today though, it wasn't and he gave me some bull st about new cars not having a book.)
My leased 5 series came with a service book...
Maybe because I am a young female he thought he could get away with that...
Anyway service history comes with receipts and apparently i have to order a new book and get merc to send me a new book.
No handbook in glove box either, or anywhere in the car.
Anyway, I'm pissed off about the fact it says it has active park assist, but doesn't.
I had a quick test drive, i know the car already, it was rush hour when i drove it, had discussion with dealer, confirmed all advert details correct etc.
Got it home. It doesn't. It's a big extra on a car, as I'm aware.... my bmw came with a camera, not photographic detail, but I'm not the best parker in the world, so wanted it, especially as this is a big car for me...
My fault for not testing it, but they told me it has it and everything advertised.
Can I reject it based on the fact it i was mis sold and misled??

"v.good price" black E-class diesel with pimptints and an AWOL service history on Chinese ditchfinder tyres. Now, what possible reason could there be for something like that to have been MOTed at only one year from new...?
Any sign of a round sticker having been in the front and rear windows...?

I like the black out windows, first time i have had them on a car. Any sign of a round sticker having been in the front and rear windows...?
Cheaper to insure than my other car.
I wasn't talking about mot?? Only the service history, and why would you be asking me about a sticker?
Just after some advice thats all, as was mislead on the specification it had...
I don't think it was a taxi.... although i guess i could put myself on Uber
It did only have one owner as i did see the log book.
I know nothing about tyres, i leave that to my partner, but thanks for that as i do a lot of miles i will def change them if they are known to be rubbish.
i thought it was a camera, for the back??
and parked itelf??
but parktronic, active park assist, thought it would be more than just a sensor
Looking on youtube etc, it says that it finds a space and parks it for you....
the advert says it has it on auto trader and on their own website.

Stop start - that's the engine eco mode and switch off when in traffic to save fuel, not keyless entry.
Park assist will simply be parking sensors, which on the pictures it has.
They have also fitted the cheapest tyres possible to it.
What did you think the parking assist should do?
The ad does say Active Park Assist - this is where the car identfies a suitable parking space and will steer itself into the space.Park assist will simply be parking sensors, which on the pictures it has.

The service record is electronic, it lurks somewhere in the MB UK website. Stop/start is the bit where the engine stops when stop the car and press the footbrake. And starts when you press the go pedal. Don't think keyless entry was ever an option.
Ok my mistake about the keyless bit, just assumed there would be a start/stop button somewhere which there isn't.AReading said:

i didn't assume it was going to actually park itself (would be nice)

The ad says 2 owners. If there was one previous on the V5, and the "current" owner, then you'll be the third.i didn't assume it was going to actually park itself (would be nice)

I assume this is Active Park Assist (my wife's VW Tiguan does exactly the same) but suggest slight caution as it may not be the same on the version you're looking at: http://techcenter.mercedes-benz.com/en/active_park...

The advert clearly states "Parktronic with Active Park Assist" which is the automatic self parking feature, as in the car finds a space it will fit in and then steers itself into said space...What did you think the parking assist should do?
There is no service book on MB from that era, it will have stop start and active park assist means it will park itself if it has a rear camera. When you're driving slowly, a 'P' sign will come up (it's blue like a parking sign) which means it's looking for a space it will fit in, an arrow will appearnext to the 'P' sign when it can find a slot it will fit in. So no, you haven't been mis-sold the car
Was the first owner Mercedes Benz Financial Services?
I can check the spec when my other half gets off my work laptop

It actually says parktronic with active park assist. It does have parktronic, aka distance sensors.
Active park assist comes in two forms - a symbol lights up to tell you if the space is big enough for earlier models.
Or as above and it will park its self.
I think you can find out the original build spec either from a main dealer or somewhere on the net.

that's why i was posting?
its an expensive extra on a car.
one thing phoning mb to get the service history, which i will do tomorrow to make sure its real...
but cannot advertise things on a car like this that aren't there.
I would imagine they will have something in their terms and conditions (that you signed when you bought the car) absolving them of any blame with regards to advertising "mistakes/errors" its an expensive extra on a car.

YOU should've checked and made sure you were happy with the car (and its spec) before buying it.
Buyers remorse?
