To be honest I don't think the 535d is that much quicker than the 530d and you pay a significant premium for a 535d. That one is very well specified but it's still £23k for a 60k mile pre-facelift car - big money. You can get a nice facelift 530d for not an awful lot more.

I wouldn't buy a diesel car - the propaganda against them is building. I would go for the 535i.

Good luck. Spent a year trying to do just that - they don't exist in big enough numbers to buy the right one IMHO frown

You've very little money and want to spend a huge amount on a diesel saloon? Think about that slowly. It's about the stupidest idea anyone has ever had.

As for the fuel economy- are you serious? Spent £20k to save £20 quid?

If you've got 30 grand in the bank why are you worrying about your current BMW needing some maintenance? Personally id keep it and use that money for something else as its not enough of an upgrade.

An E60 M5 with the V10 however would be tempting.

Wouldn't get too hung up on buying property, we aren't bothering to as renting is much less faff. You want the car? But it. Life is short, but to be fair there are more fun cars. £10k E39 M5...

Buy a house or two, it is what I did at your age and now I don't feel bad about wasting money on cars, even though you could carry on saving / investing life is too short.

Buy a house, start saving again and buy yourself a nice car.

Buy this 750iL for circa 5k as a keeper

and grow into it.

Invest the rest in property (or c*** & h****** then start saving again).

Plus, it will cost less to but and run than depreciation of either the 530d or 535d. So basically, it's free!
