VW Transporter Kombi T32
Discussion
Gents
I'm looking at selecting my next company vehicle, I need a 6/7 seater.
Does anyone know if the VW transporter kombi (the one with a 2nd row of seats behind the drivers, with windows in the rear, but not in the load space) qualifies for the flat rate of commercial vehicle tax or would it come under the same heading as a normal company car? all the information I have found so far seems to be out of date.
Many Thanks

Depends!
If you're self employed & want to claim the VAT back then yes it must be a T32 but if you're just going for the Van benefit BIK rate then you will be ok with a SWB T28/T30

That's the start of the debate. People get confused about the 1000 kgs payload limit but that is only for double cab pickups (Hi Lux etc.)
Ultimately, it's down to you & your company. Personally I would not risk it & will be opting for a Hi Lux of Amorok. Currently I am driving a Defender 110 Utility which is a Van!
