Very similar to the van I secured except mines got a few more extras (which I didn’t specify) and it’s due in June.

Probably be the wettest summer in living memory now…

After a week of waiting, I can finally say, that my order for VW California Beach Camper was accepted by the dealer. Van has a build slot in June and should arrive at the end of summer.

It's 6k miles pa, 3 + 23 x 426.52 = £11089.52 for van with £3800 options and P11D value of £64884.

I'm almost as happy, as with Audi S8 deal in 2015. Never thought about buying California (neither S8), because it's rather expensive and using it as daily could be inconvenient at times, due to height and parking restrictions for campers.

I thought brand new cars are not for me anymore, because of too many driving assistants and annoying touch screens, but couldn't say no to good offer. Now, I have to work out where to store my 4x4 for 2 years, as I don't have 3 parking spaces at home. I used it for camping previously and plan to keep it forever.

Thanks to intial poster and I can highly recommend Dream Lease. I'm happy to pay broker fee, it's well deserved. Also, I rejected my previous car with VWFS in 2021, but no consequences for new deal.

Ha ha, I didn't ask, but keep it coming! smile

You've only seen 1-2 on the road? I'm yet to see an M2 in any colour. I need to get out more!

Regarding your other reply (thank you for that too), they called me to chase me up and I was honest, said I was unsure. I also asked what if my circumstances change between now and then and he said I would lose the £180 process fee, which is fair enough and of course I could live with that.

But he also said BMW charge for a cancelled order?? Can't remember if he said £500 or £1000 for that. That's the first I've heard of that, but maybe that's if it's a lease order?
I did ask my broker about a different interior/colour combo and he said any cognac interior would require an additional £1000 deposit because the dealer doesn't want to get stuck with it in stock if i cancelled the order. Which is a bit of a shame as it will deter people from ordering anything that isn't silver/white/black on black interior. That could be what they were referring to; but trying to get money out of you that you haven't paid as a deposit, after you've cancelled the order? I think that's a bit ambitious.

If i ordered a bright pink car with purple spots id expect to pay a sizeable deposit and forfeit it if i withdrew, outside of that anything more than a couple of hundred quid is a bit excessive.

Who rents these things out of warranty? Brave.
Yeah, even in warranty, the one I had was a PITA.
Yep same here. I have one at the moment, great when it works but a complete pita when something goes wrong (and something WILL go wrong). Can’t wait to get rid of mine.

£180 net per month is a really, really good deal. Quite rare to see sub £200 deals on new, unregistered cars in 2024.

£213 on a 1+23 with 10k miles. Really good value for what will be a decent little car!

It says on the site.
294kW EV400 HSE 90kWh 5dr Auto [11kW Charger] [2021]

Doesnt' say second hand though
2021 is the model year surely?
I was just gonna say exactly the same. The year in brackets is usually the model year, not the age of the car.

EDITED to add pic confirming it is a used model at that price, not new.

Had a response from Select confirming it's a 3-4 year old vehicle and they want £511.54 on a 3+36 term, you'd have to be absolutely mad to pay that for a <£30k car that's out of warranty, let alone when it's a JLR product.

I was going to pull the trigger and get one for my daughter until I saw the insurance group was 28. Unsure why it would be so high

The group isn't the be all and end all. Probably worth getting a quote anyway...

I'm sure the Swift deal will be good for some but with 80bhp and 0-60 in 12 seconds it's too slow these days I feel.

Worth noting the Swift comes standard in this Flame Orange colour. Other colours will add £600 to the cost.

Yeah well it's a very good car for city drivers or even someone new to driving

I'd say 0 to 30 is probably what you need to focus on but that's just me smile

Leasing.com pulled it out. I guess it might have been a Select error and they owned up to it.

Definitely a chase the deal not the car. Good price but gopping colour and a bit slow.
