This looks mighty fine...

You probably know this, but shares it's engine with the more powerful version of the Alpine...

I looked at that yesterday, very nice… apart from the wheels IMO. Are the Recaros heated? A must have once you’ve had them biggrin

I didn’t think much of the last model at all. Obviously a great car at covering ground, but once that’s not your priority, it falls down as an overall package.

Love the look of them, though.

What would you buy for the budget out of interest?
Megane. As I mentioned earlier.
Ta, thought you'd got rid as you said you had one.

I did get rid. It was on a two year lease. But you asked me what I would buy. Whether I've got one now or not doesn't make any difference.

Got it, you'd buy another Megane.

That yellow one you posted looks ace.

I don’t think the seats are heated ,like the Guilia QF if you go for the carbon seats…
Love the look of them, though.

No.

As someone else said, get a 7.5R and a remap. Far better ride and interior quality than many rivals, 4x4, cheap to insure and tax, goes like stink in all weathers.

Rather than just an excellent spirited drive like, say a Honda or Megane, with a Golf R it's the sum of its parts that count.

The Mk8 is a better car, which has finally grown on me..

I’m not one for getting a car mapped, plus I’m sure the Mk8 R is fast enough.

Oh, and my Mk7.5 GTI looks better than the R smile

The Rs not a looker, that's for sure. Fast enough? I wouldn't bother with an untuned R, just not lively enough.

Taking the plunge on a 24 plate Golf R 20, white, pan roof and Akrapovic exhaust. Can’t have it for 2 months though, as it’s pre registered.

Blue wheels, though…

Thanks… I’ve not driven one yet though, they’re sorting me one to have a drive in, though, maybe tomorrow.

Test drove a car for the first time today, great to drive, the lack of buttons aren’t the issue the road testers made out.
