I don't think you should be able to start threads until you've made a certain number of posts. People who have contributed nothing to the forum getting stroppy when the first thing they do is ask for help and get some pushback - usually interspersed with actual help - and then flouncing does annoy me.

Maybe I should start a thread about it, where I explain that this minor irritation makes me want to burn the world and never buy another car and see what reaction I get.
