Evening Guys, Thought I would finally introduce myself having browsed the forum for a while now. Never joined pistonheads forum only ever trailed through the posts reading. Decided before christmas that I wanted to sell my Mk5 R32, and it sold at the weekend so I am now looking for my next toy. Ive been looking at Nobles for months now and despite reading a fair amount of negative comments about them they seem to be outweighed by the positives as a drivers car. As far as reliability goes they dont seem to be great but I have a company car and the car will be parked up most of the time, think I did 8000 miles in my golf in 2 years, and twice were 800 mile round trips to shows down south. Im on the look out preferably for a 3R purely for the extras they come with, leather, diff etc. I actually emailed Rob as from previous posts there seems only to be praise for his car that was for sale previously but I havent heard back from him as yet, but It was only yesterday I emailed him. Having watched the classifieds for months now there has been a few nice ones come and go but I like the look of robs and there is another silver one on compomotive wheels that looks a nice one, does any know the cars history? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3658189.htmIm Glasgow, Scotland based so if any local owners would be up for a chat that would be great. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nothing wrong with plugging your own car. I did see it go up the other day. Can you send me over some more info with regards to it please, previous owners etc. List of all the mods / maintenance works done, the makes of shocks fitted and things. All the cars are a days journey away from me, not that that bothers me I travelled 900 miles round trip to get my golf but would be nice to see one up close first. Thanks for any help guys.

Still on the hunt guys, ideally looking for a low owner example but they do appear to be few and far between!

I would've agreed with you untill today as I think I saw this exact one (see the 'spotted' thread) and it looked really good! I've never been a fan of green cars but it really did stand out so if it's not far for you to travel it may well be worth a look. You never know, you could fall in love.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Im going to be super picky though and to be honest I would prefer to have one of the other colours, and without the cream interior. Its making the search much harder but Im sure the right car will come along some day. Was really interested in Robs car to be honest but I think he might have changed his mind about selling it. Will keep looking :-)

I could be tempted, haven't had chance to set up advert yet!! Mine has full engine spec to M400 with 420bhp by Yellowshed and a load of other bits, drop me a email if it floats your boat and I can give you more details:

Did you notice a difference when you fitted yours? Simon

Hi Simon, as standard it made no difference that I could notice, but I went down the route of fitting 28 turbos, intercooler, hard pipe and then remap. Then it all did make a difference. Very easy to fit both btw.

Well guys picked up My M12 3R yesterday. Its James's old blue 3R that Bespoke were selling. Went down a few weeks ago and put a deposit on it. Seems a really straight clean car and felt a bit of re-assurance buying from a garage over private. Has a wee issues which I would like to sort out but the 420 mile Drive home to Scotland was faultless, only issue was the handbrake not holding it on my driveway! It cruises so well in 6th gear, really smooth, was surprised just how well it sails along, and the power is even better than that, so smooth and just picks up in any gear, so far so good Look forward to meeting up with you guys at a meet / show sometime

TADTS [They All Do That Sir] Find the "adjusting handbrake" thread and spend your life doing it, or just park it in 1st/reverse like the majority of us! J

Thanks Joust. Yeah I had left it in gear but still wasnt holding that well, will have a look at the handbrake thread.
Only other thing I noticed was a strange clunk / grinding type noise, maybe a whine but not that bad when downchanging gears ( engine braking ) going into junctions, only seemed to hear it when I was up the road though not initially when driving but did sound like it was coming from the front :S.

Ball joint first, bearing second. Ball joints are almost "consumables", bearings on the rear are problematic (switching to the 'porsche' nuts helps) and only rarely hear about front bearings. Should be easy to check, jack up the front, wobble the wheel top to bottom will tell you about the ball joint, and bearings you should feel as you turn the wheel. Sure others will be along with some other suggestions. J

The clunk might be an engine mount or something touching the bulkhead, perhaps even the exhaust touching the frame.

My exhaust always clunks if there is anything loose, and it's most certainly a "thunk", but certainly worth checking all the 'hanging rubbers' as they seem to perish quite easily.
