Chaps,

I need 4 of the silver screw retaining clips which hold the front clam down onto the body. Mine are still in a field at Croft.

I need to get hold of them before the weekend so i can do the Rockingham trackday on Sunday.

please can anybody advise where i can get them from in a hurry???

cheers

I'd like to find an alternative to the OEM retainers that doesn't need a screwdriver. Anyone come across anything?

yep, proper bear claw double catch units like I have on my carbon rear clip hence the OEM ones are now redundant smile

other than repainting the clip my solution would work on a stock rear clip... just need to fit a cable mechanism that allows both sides to be opened at the same time, may fit an electric system so I can also dead lock it when the car does more than 10mph like car doors do.
I've done this because I destroyed my OEM rear clip when I forgot to do up the OEM screws... once in 10years of having cars like this was once too often lol

Sounds interesting Andy. Something that opens all clips together would be great! Next - gas struts for both clams smile

Photos please when available.

This subject seems to have come up many times in the past but I was just wondering whether anyone had a single fastener they'd like to sell - I only need the part that is fixed (i.e. the female part that is not attached the clam itself). Mine has just worn and doesn't seat properly and so it pops open over bumps.

Thanks

Dave

Yes, that seems to be the best option but with postage and vat it's £40 which seems crazy for such a small part!

Hi, I had two that were the same, they popped up over bumps. It was easy to take them out with an allen key, clean them out - i used a small allen key to get in the slot - a little bit of grease and they have been perfect since....

I think I have some. I bought a load when I was in the states a few years ago. I'll check in the morning.
