Only problem with that is by the time you bring the car in, get the wheel off and set up the gauge it will be cold again. I think it may be time to give it to someone else who has the right equipment, I just hate being beaten! Grrrr.

Im guessing if its a bad vibration in the steering wheel it has to be front.. I can understand your frustration as I hate brake judder.

I think you may have to bite the bullet and buy the jetstream discs... as you may just be the kind of driver thats hard on the brakes!!!

Yes it's definitely from the front as it feels like the front of the car is being shaken to bits but I don't really feel a lot through the steering wheel. It's very loud and feels more like I'm going over a rumble strip if that makes sense? Definitely not my driving mate otherwise I would've had it on my two previous cars, it's possible both of my uprights need replacing then?

If I ever get this problem sorted I'm going to be so bloody happy!!

Just thought I'd post an update on my brake judder problem as I know it's fairly common. Ive fitted another set of front discs that Andy has very kindly lent me but this time I've changed the bells too (so not using the bells from my car) and my initial findings have been excellent. For the first time since I've owned the car it brakes nice and even with no judder, very hard braking locks both front wheels evenly and theres no pull left or right but a day at silverstone tomorrow will be the big test! So thanks to everyone for their help, opinions and offers of parts thumbup

This is certainly a blast from the past!

I had an absolute nightmare with my brakes after the discs and pads were changed all round. At that time it was all standards parts as the Jetstream upgrades weren't available.

If I remember correctly Jetstream eventually replaced the bearings, hubs and done a complete skim before the brakes stopped juddering.

Oh how I miss these problems (not) :-)

I,m sorry to say he still has problems but after a test drive by Matt from Jetstream on Monday we believe there is also a damper problem !! this will need sorting before anything else can be done .

Weirdly at the track mine vibrated for the first few stints and then the vibration went away completely later in the day. Whether they just needed bedding in a bit (discs only fitted about 1000 miles ago) or whether I was being smoother/ less hard on the brakes in later sessions I don't know, but a couple of passengers commented on how good they are and mine are the standard APs.

But yeah, damper problem first, that sounded awful.

Well I hate to say it but yes I do still have some problems with judder although the discs/bells I borrowed from Andy are better than what I've had on the car before. First two sessions were great, only minimal judder but nothing much at all and because the fronts were ok I could feel there was also small amounts of judder from the rear. Yes it was fun being driven round by Matt (I think the dodgy shocks caught him by surprise) but we think the problem on the front brakes could be a bad calliper. I checked the shocks over yesterday and all four have air in them so they will need to go back for a rebuild frown

Thanks Kevin I'll keep it in mind. Jetstream are going to try a set on the car that they know are good and take it for a few laps of the track. Matt was saying they've had issues with brake callipers sticking and corroding inside so even if they are rebuilt they tend to stick again. When I bought my car the front n/s was stuck so I stripped and rebuilt them with new seals etc, sounds like this could be my problem.

Also the shocks are going back to BAD for a full rebuild, so hopefully it will then go rounds corners too smile

Well I can at last say that my car has no more brake judder party I think I've been through 3/4 sets of discs, 3 sets of pads, new hubs all round and jetstream have also had a go at it. One of the front uprights has been sleeved so theres no more play and Dave fitted new rear hubs and bearings, then today I've had the discs skimmed on the car. Just been on a spirited drive and the car feels better than it ever has (also thanks to the refurbished shocks) so looks like I'll be at silverstone for the track day. I must also add that it was Dave who knew it was the rear that was giving me the problems and not the front as I thought it was.

Same for me I was convinced it was the front but (after lots of attempts as you) Dave said not and new rear hubs/bearings and then skim discs on car transformed the experience, been great ever since (about two years).
