Realeased on the stand at Autosport was Noble Martins 6 speed fully sequential gearbox .
designed buy himself (he is a clever bugger ) it works great and will be one of the biggest improvements to lap times there is .
i had a play and it work superb , rated at something like 700ftlb of torque and 700bhp it should be plenty strong enough for any of the big Bhp engines .
gear ratios have been adjusted with a longer first and sixth with all the gears in between adjusted to give the best performance.
you will also be able to use it with a std H pattern setup as well as the sequental setup .

more info to follow .

And there I was thinking 2013 was going to be a cheap year.

Clutchless changes?
Any guidance on cost?

Hi Mark yes clutchless changes , Jetstream will be the approved fitting center , gearbox has been on the dyno and been checked now we need to road test , hopefull this will commence over the next few months . cost wise depends on the level you want to go for and labour charges are not confirmed but it looks like it going to be in the region of 10 to 11k for the full package, fitted .

By full package should I assume that assumes a donor box is to be provided and includes the gearset, sequential shifter but not an ECU to allow flat shifting?
Cheers

Hi Graham , only part of the std box used is the casing's , everything else is replaced , yes no ecu included if you want the ability to flat shift .

What is th epoint of a clutchless change without the ability to flat shift, surely this will mean you still have to lift?

if you have a ecu that will support a flat shift then the box will work fine , but anyone who want to keep the std mbe ecu will have to lift , no great problem , i shall stick with the H pattern and std ecu and just upgrade the box so i,m able to run whatever power i require . in the end it comes down to how much you want to spend , no reason why you cannot start with the box then upgrade to the sequential system and ecu as you can afford it .

I intend on going for the gearbox and sequential shifter, Ill try it out as is with mbe (using clutch pedal) ill see how it feels,

More than likely once that's fitted up ill go see the guys who done sundances car for an ECU/wiring loom to get a reliable set up at 650hp and the ability to flat shift. smile

Just seen this thread, great news Si, love the the idea and using the H patern seq, means with the new ecu i have i can fit the paddle shift to it which cones with my system.
What about the casing? we know it wont be strong enough, are they using belt and braces so to speak for extra strength?
11k fitted is pretty high but still cheeper tan anything out there at the mo,
Have you gone with the Evo internals?
Will have my price, end of this week, sounds lime at last we boys have an optionthumbup

Graham if you do decide to go with the life ecu you can easily fit the paddle shift aswell.
its taken time to set up all the part throttle and cold start, and getting the drive ability to be perfect has been very time consuming, ie driving round the hole m25 twice with Terry next to me working the laptop and setting it up but finally we have perfected it and have all the base maps.
Sorry Si back to the thread.

Hi Craig , no problems happy for your input !! , the casings are a concern but the gear cluster is a cleansheet design and is a lot stronger than the std setup . we need to test the box thoroughly though , there are also modifications that will help the casings cope with the extra load .

the prospect of a box that can let my engine make its full potential is pretty exciting... there has been a lot of us waiting for this development.

Sounds like a good option, how are the gears cut? are they straight? The box i have been waiting for,I believe is not Seq and will need a clutch, as i didnt want a load of gearbox wine in the car as the only option i was told was straight cut if you wanted a Seq box, But if now we have an option that can be Seq and not to loud, then i would be very intrested.
I would imagine to strengthen the casing they will wrap some form of strapping or cable around the case to give it more strength not much else you can do.

Sounds ideal, is there going to be a group buy and a chance of reducing the cost i wonder?whistle

worth mentioning that one of the other significant changes from stock is that the input shaft will actually extend into a bearing in the flywheel/crank... this is what almost all other high power gearbox's have, but ours does not... its thought that this is the reason upgrading clutch option screech on change down etc.

so is this a based on our 6 speed gearbox with new gearset fitted ?

can the sequential be fitted to a stock box ?

can the gears/ shafts be purchased indivdually ?
