Well, some of you may have seen my previous post pleading for somebody to find me a rubber foot for my rear wing, with no real success. Some of you cut flat rubber sheet and place it below the legs, which was my last resort, but I really wanted to retain the look of the 'boot'.

I don't claim to be an engineer, or fabrication expert, but with my limited knowledge this is what i've come up with:

This picture was fresh from the mould.

I have just taken a trip to the garage and finally refitted the spoiler:

Whilst not identical to the originals, I kept the design true to it. I personally really like the look of them and i'm chuffed with the final result. The walls are slightly thicker than the originals, and they are slightly deeper, so if you are going to replace them you may want to do all four as the design is different, although two of each type may actually look 'by design'.

They are pretty labour intensive for me to make, and the material is pretty expensive to buy in small quantities (not that I can find it en mass) but it's the same rubber that pedal rubbers are made of, so pretty durable. I have one or two sets here at the moment that if somebody is desperate for, then let me know. I am currently looking at stainless steels bolts and washers to replace the spoiler bolts, so may make a kit containing the feet and bolts.

Paul

Looks good.
I'll check the condition of mine when I next see the car but I think they may be ok at the minute!

They look good, the originals just seemed to be made of the wrong material as they deteriorate quickly, not sure what the problem is?

Thanks guys. They obviously clean up a little better than the picture probably shows. My reasons for replacing were two fold.. I stupidly lost one whilst working on the car (bound to find it soon), and the other three were starting to show signs of age and looked un-tidy. Seemingly they are like hens teeth hence I ended up here..

I'm happy to do this as a one off kind of thing and do one mass run of them, so if people are interested, start a list and I will see what I can do. It may get to the point I ask for deposits to cover the cost of the materials, but it's hard to put a final price on them until I know how many people would be interested as I may be able to source the materials cheaper. They do take me a little time to make so if time is an issue for you, do speak to me first.

I do have a set here if somebody wants to give them an independent once over and honest appraisal before I go too far with this, and if happy purchase them / if not, just post them back to me.

When you say sets, are we talking 2 feet or 4?

The originals were actually moulded flat from what I can tell, just as they were made from a flexible compound, it followed the contour of the clam as you bolted the wing down. These behave in exactly the same way and follow the body line really well, without spread.

Not sure if this shows it:

Paul, I mean 8 pieces (one spare set). Re curling, the originals have a tendency to curl at the outside edges as they are bolted down - partly the curve of the body but as you mention also rubbish rubber.

BTW, nothing to do with the feet but do you all realise that the Sarf Afrikaans were pissed when they cut the spoiler hole template?! It's skewed - look at your uprights, one isn't true vertical.
